Life, Values & Legacy: Our Chat with Ann Loyd

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Ann Loyd. Check out our conversation below.

Ann, we’re thrilled to have you with us today. Before we jump into your intro and the heart of the interview, let’s start with a bit of an ice breaker: What makes you lose track of time—and find yourself again?
My art is where the world goes away. Can’t seem to find just one passion, so painting, woodworking, stain glass and photography keep my head straight and fun.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
What people remember about me is my laugh…I think that is just right. I’m in my 70’s and that means there have been many people and challenges.
But art like painting and stain glass along with bright colors and textures have been in all those milestones. I love the mountains and the ocean and carry my Norwegian heritage with pride.
So, if you’re interested in those things I am interesting.

Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. What relationship most shaped how you see yourself?
My parents were the best of people. Mom was 38 when I was born so I was cherished and as an only child a little spoiled. Not so much with things, but with trust and hugs, and feeling like I had no barriers. If you worked hard and were good to people you would be just fine in this life.
I still hold onto that, and it has been shaken a bit, but still believed.

If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
Don’t be stopped by income.
The Universe and your spirit guides have your best outcome selected. Trust in your gut feelings and go for it.

Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? What truths are so foundational in your life that you rarely articulate them?
That I would never intentionally hurt you.

Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: If you knew you had 10 years left, what would you stop doing immediately?
At 77 I will be very happy to have 10 good years.
Keep my health, so watch diet, that’s new. Also, spend time with likeminded people. Stopped being isolated. Ageing is one adjustment after another. So, find what works as it happens immediately.
