Attorney Liscah Isaboke shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.
Hi Liscah, thank you so much for joining us today. We’re thrilled to learn more about your journey, values and what you are currently working on. Let’s start with an ice breaker: Would YOU hire you? Why or why not?
Yes, I would hire me. I bring both legal expertise and business strategy to the table. I understand how to protect businesses while also positioning them for growth. I’ve built my own firm from the ground up, so I know the pressures my clients face and how to solve them with practical solutions. I’m disciplined, responsive, and focused on results. I hire people who think ahead and take ownership, and that’s exactly how I operate.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Liscah Isaboke, and I am the Founding and Managing Partner of Isaboke Law Firm® based in Charlotte, North Carolina. I built my firm to merge legal expertise with business strategy, helping entrepreneurs and business owners protect their companies, secure their intellectual property, and scale with confidence. What makes my work unique is that I approach law from a business-first perspective. I don’t just draft contracts or file trademarks; I make sure those tools align with long-term goals like growth, investment, and generational wealth.
I started my firm in 2021, bootstrapping it into a practice that now serves clients locally, nationally, and internationally. Today, I’m also developing digital products like legal templates and resources that give founders accessible, practical tools to protect and grow their businesses. My mission is simple: make legal services transparent, approachable, and tailored so that business owners feel empowered instead of intimidated.
Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. What breaks the bonds between people—and what restores them?
What breaks bonds between people is usually a loss of trust. That can come from dishonesty, unmet expectations, or lack of communication. When trust erodes, connection weakens. What restores bonds is accountability and consistency. Owning mistakes, making clear commitments, and showing up over time rebuilds trust. Real bonds are repaired through action, not words alone.
What did suffering teach you that success never could?
Suffering taught me resilience and perspective. It forced me to slow down, face discomfort, and rebuild with intention. Success affirms your strengths, but suffering exposes your limits and shows you where real growth happens. It taught me empathy, patience, and the value of persistence in a way success never could.
Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. What are the biggest lies your industry tells itself?
One of the biggest lies in the legal industry is that professionalism and social media don’t mix. Many attorneys believe being visible online cheapens their credibility. The truth is, when done with intention, social media builds trust, connection, and rapport long before someone becomes a client. People want to work with professionals they feel they know. Sharing insights, showing your personality, and educating through content creates that bridge. Hiding behind tradition keeps lawyers invisible in a world where visibility matters.
Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. If you laid down your name, role, and possessions—what would remain?
If I laid down my name, role, and possessions, what would remain is my character, my values, and the way I treat people. Titles and things can be taken away, but integrity, resilience, and impact endure. What lasts is the imprint you leave on others through your actions.
