We recently had the chance to connect with Bella Amore and have shared our conversation below.
Bella , we’re thrilled to have you with us today. Before we jump into your intro and the heart of the interview, let’s start with a bit of an ice breaker: What are you most proud of building — that nobody sees?
What I’m most proud of building—beyond the businesses and events people see—is the quiet confidence I’ve helped plant in others. Whether it’s a young person who finally sees themselves as more than their circumstances, or a woman who realizes she’s worthy of stepping into her purpose, those victories aren’t always posted online. But they’re the foundation of everything I do.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Martikia Brown, but most people know me as Bella Amore. I’m a professional model, entrepreneur, and founder of Bella Amore, a brand rooted in empowerment, confidence, and faith. My journey hasn’t just been about building businesses—it’s been about creating platforms that uplift others. From reopening my modeling academy to mentoring youth and curating women’s empowerment events, I’ve always believed in using my voice and my brand to help people step into their purpose.
What makes my work unique is that it’s not just about beauty, fashion, or business—it’s about transformation. I’ve built Bella Amore and my signature event, Fashion, Heels & Flaws, as spaces where creativity, faith and empowerment collide. Whether I’m helping a young person find their confidence on the runway, empowering a woman to embrace her flaws, or connecting leaders in the community, my mission is always the same: to inspire, equip, and empower.
Right now, I’m working on expanding Bella Amore into new spaces, with Fashion, Heels & Flaws being a major part of that vision. I want people to see that your past or circumstances don’t define you—you can build something powerful, not just for yourself, but for your community.
Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. Who were you before the world told you who you had to be?
I’ll never let the world tell me who I am. My identity isn’t defined by titles, opinions or labels—it’s defined by God, my purpose and the vision He placed inside of me. I’ve learned that when you let the world decide your worth, you’ll always be chasing approval. But when you know who you are, you move with confidence, no matter what’s thrown your way. That’s the message I carry into my brand and everything I do—helping others embrace their true identity without apology.
If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
I’d tell my younger self to keep playing, keep dreaming and don’t grow up too fast. Life will try to rush you into being someone you’re not but the joy, creativity and imagination you have right now are your superpowers. Protect them, because they’ll carry you further than you realize.
Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? What truths are so foundational in your life that you rarely articulate them?
A truth that’s so foundational for me is that everything I have comes from God. I’ll always say it out loud – my faith is the anchor behind every decision, every win and even every setback. Another truth I carry is that impact matters more than image. People may see the photoshoots, the events and the business but what really fuels me is knowing I’ve helped someone believe in themselves when they didn’t before. At the core of it all, I know resilience is a daily choice. Life will always bring challenges but quitting isn’t an option. Those three truths—faith, impact and resilience—quietly guide everything I do.
Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
When I’m gone, I hope people say that I never just chased success, I chased purpose. That I loved God, I loved my family and I poured love into my community. I hope they say I made people feel seen, whether it was a young person finding their confidence on the runway or a woman at Fashion, Heels & Flaws finally believing she was enough. I don’t want to be remembered for titles or accomplishments—I want people to say, ‘she gave her all, she stood on faith, and she left us better than she found us.’
