Life, Values & Legacy: Our Chat with Blessing B of Seattle

We recently had the chance to connect with Blessing B and have shared our conversation below.

Blessing, really appreciate you sharing your stories and insights with us. The world would have so much more understanding and empathy if we all were a bit more open about our stories and how they have helped shaped our journey and worldview. Let’s jump in with a fun one: What is a normal day like for you right now?
A normal day for me is waking up and doing my morning routine. If it’s not a work day I focus on filming fashion content and reading. Currently in school studying Social Media Management!

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Blessing, and I proudly trace my roots to Liberia, West Africa, while having grown up in the United States. From a young age, I was deeply inspired by music and art, which naturally evolved into a passion for fashion after graduating high school. Modeling has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my journey so far, opening doors to incredible opportunities and connections. Beyond modeling, I am building my personal brand, hosting events, and developing my own fashion line. I am passionate about connecting with others, sharing experiences, and continuously expanding my knowledge and creativity.

Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. What did you believe about yourself as a child that you no longer believe?
Deep down, I’ve always known I was created for more. My journey hasn’t followed the traditional path, but it has shaped me into who I am today. At first, I believed that art and drawing were my only gifts, but over time I discovered that my potential extends far beyond that. I’ve learned that I can pursue anything I set my mind to—and I don’t need to prove myself to anyone but me.

What fear has held you back the most in your life?
The fear of making mistakes has always weighed heavily on me. Growing up in the Christian church has been both a blessing and, at times, overwhelming. I often felt out of place, but in truth, it wasn’t the church—it was me searching for where I belonged. As a model, creative, and entrepreneur, I’ve realized that not everyone will understand this path. Yet, I’ve come to know that God’s love is deeper than any doubt or fear. Because of that, I no longer have to live in fear—I can walk boldly in purpose.

I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. What’s a belief or project you’re committed to, no matter how long it takes?
My greatest challenge—and greatest responsibility—has always been myself. No matter what, I have to continue developing and loving who I am. It’s a lifelong journey. Neither money nor fame can teach self-love; it requires practice, patience, and kindness. At the end of the day, no one else can define me—I am the only one who can be me.

Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
That she never gave up. I’ve been through many challenges, and there were moments when I wanted to quit. But my greatest strength is that I’m not a quitter. I’ve made a promise to myself—quitting is not an option. I either win, or I learn, but I will never stop moving forward.
