Brandi Lilley shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.
Brandi, a huge thanks to you for investing the time to share your wisdom with those who are seeking it. We think it’s so important for us to share stories with our neighbors, friends and community because knowledge multiples when we share with each other. Let’s jump in: What makes you lose track of time—and find yourself again?
When inspiration hits, I lose all sense of time. I’ll fall deep into projects like redesigning our website, building new sales funnels, or reworking internal systems. Once the ideas start flowing, it feels like a waterfall, steady, endless, and energizing. That creative flow state is where I reconnect with myself and remember why I love what I do.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Brandi Lilley, founder of Luneer Mgmt, a boutique creative operations agency that helps entrepreneurs bring order, flow, and strategy to the back end of their businesses. We specialize in systems design, automation, and ongoing operational support that free founders to focus on the work/life they love most. What makes Luneer Mgmt special is the balance we strike between creativity and structure. We care just as much about the soul of a brand as we do about the systems that sustain it.
Luneer was built around the belief that clarity and intention create growth that actually feels good. Whether we’re building custom HoneyBook systems, designing seamless client experiences, or optimizing websites for SEO, our goal is to help entrepreneurs feel grounded and supported in every part of their business. Right now, my team and I are expanding our HoneyBook Intensives and SEO services to help even more small business owners simplify their systems, elevate their online presence, and run their operations with confidence and ease.
Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. Who taught you the most about work?
I’ve learned the most about work from a mix of my parents and two mentors, Erich Keil and the late Howell Binkley. My parents taught me that hard work, dedication, and focus will take you far, and that giving up isn’t an option when something truly matters to you. They modeled resilience, integrity, and compassion, showing me what it means to follow through on commitments and to care deeply about the people around you.
Erich taught me how to think creatively, how to teach myself new things, and how to problem-solve. He showed me the importance of systems, structure, and showing up for what’s right, while also emphasizing mental health, mindfulness, and balance. He introduced me to Buddhism and meditation, lessons that continue to guide how I move through my days and lead my team. Howell, who passed away a few years ago, deeply influenced how I see creativity and leadership. He embodied positivity, focus, and joy in every moment of his craft, and his example continues to inspire how I show up for my own work.
Together, they shaped not just how I work, but how I live with purpose, care, and intention.
If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
I’d tell my younger self to stop trying so hard to be understood and start focusing on what truly lights her up. The right people will recognize that light when it’s real. Being alone for a season is worth it if it means living in alignment with who you really are. Stop trying to fit into other people’s worlds and start building your own. The right people will find you there.
Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? What are the biggest lies your industry tells itself?
That success has to look a certain way. In the online business and creative services world, there’s this constant pressure to scale fast, automate everything, and chase visibility. But the truth is, even when you love what you do, there are seasons where it takes over more than you’d like. The lie is that it always has to be effortless or perfectly balanced. What matters is building something that feels meaningful and aligned enough to be worth the effort it asks of you. That’s the kind of success I believe in.
Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. What do you understand deeply that most people don’t?
That alignment matters more than achievement. You can check every box and still feel disconnected if what you’re building doesn’t reflect who you are. I’ve learned that success that costs your peace isn’t really success. The real magic happens when your choices, values, and energy are all pointed in the same direction. When things are aligned, everything else starts to flow.
