Life, Values & Legacy: Our Chat with Brielle Janaè of New Orleans

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Brielle Janaè. Check out our conversation below.

Brielle, really appreciate you sharing your stories and insights with us. The world would have so much more understanding and empathy if we all were a bit more open about our stories and how they have helped shaped our journey and worldview. Let’s jump in with a fun one: Have any recent moments made you laugh or feel proud?
A recent moment that really made me proud was graduating school and stepping into my first “big girl” job in my field. It was such a full-circle experience because it reminded me that I’m truly sitting in answered prayers. There were times I doubted myself or wondered if things were moving too slowly, but this experience has shown me that God is always on time—not my time. It gave me perspective that even when I couldn’t see the bigger picture, life was still working in my favor. Walking across that stage and then walking into my career felt like validation that all the late nights, the sacrifices, and the faith I held onto were worth it. It also gave me the confidence to know that I belong in these spaces and that I’m just getting started. For me, it’s not only about reaching the milestone, but also about realizing that each step forward is a reminder of resilience, faith, and divine timing.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi, Im Brielle! By day I work in social work, focusing on kids, families, and mental health, and by night (and weekends) I get to dive into my love for fashion and creating content. It’s definitely a juggling act, but that’s what makes it fun. I get to pour into others through my career while also expressing myself creatively. I’ve just started my first big girl job, so my focus has been on getting grounded in that, but fashion is still such a huge part of me. I like to think my journey is unique because I’m learning how to balance purpose with passion. This fall I’m especially excited to bring some fresh, creative ideas to life and share more of my style and story with everyone.

Okay, so here’s a deep one: Who were you before the world told you who you had to be?
Before the world told me who I had to be, I was a quiet but fun and stylish girl, dreaming bigger than my eyes could ever take in. I’ve always been on the go, chasing ideas, chasing growth, chasing the version of myself I knew I could become. But the world has a way of making you feel like you have to fit a mold, be louder, be smaller, be tougher, be softer, all at once. For a while I carried those expectations, but somewhere along the way I realized that none of them defined me. What defines me are my choices: the boundaries I set, the values I live by, the morals I refuse to compromise, and the joy I hold on to. I’m still that girl with big dreams, but now I move through life with clarity knowing exactly who I am.

When you were sad or scared as a child, what helped?
When I was sad or scared as a child, music was my refuge, my escape. I live, breathe, eat, and sleep music. It’s the one thing that always made me feel like myself again. I love discovering new artists, exploring different sounds and genres, and finding those songs that just hit differently. My favorite moments are when the lyrics speak exactly what I’m feeling, when the music doesn’t just play in my ears but resonates in my body. In those moments, it’s like all the fear, sadness, or uncertainty just releases, and for a little while, life feels worth living again. Music taught me that even in my darkest moments, there’s a way to feel, to express, and to heal.

Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? What do you believe is true but cannot prove?
I’ve always believed that people know when they’re doing wrong, even if they try to justify it or hide it. It’s that quiet, almost invisible sense inside that nudges us, a little voice that reminds us of who we are and what we stand for. You can’t always prove it, and people might deny it to themselves or others, but it’s there. I think it’s part of being human that inner awareness that we’re accountable for our choices, even when the world makes it easy to turn a blind eye. Sometimes, it’s the things we try hardest to ignore that shape us the most, and acknowledging that internal compass is what keeps us growing, learning, and becoming the people we’re meant to be.

Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. When do you feel most at peace?

I feel most at peace when I’m in nature, especially near water. There’s something about the sound, the movement, and the openness that clears my mind and makes me feel free. Being near water gives me space to breathe, reflect, and just be , it’s like the world slows down and I can let go of all the noise and stress. It’s a simple sense of comfort and calm that always centers me and reminds me to just exist in the moment.
