Life, Values & Legacy: Our Chat with Cleopatra Ranay of Dallas

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Cleopatra Ranay. Check out our conversation below.

Cleopatra, we’re thrilled to have you with us today. Before we jump into your intro and the heart of the interview, let’s start with a bit of an ice breaker: What is a normal day like for you right now?
For me a normal day can be all over the place depending on what needs to be done. I still work a full time job and promote myself and business on Tiktok as well. So in the morning I wake up two hours before my shift to hit the gym, then i come home and get ready for work creating my work from home morning vlog. After my vlog, in between down time and breaks during my working hours I am posting on my business social media, promoting the new collection for Body Butters and maintaining making marketing videos with trends and things of that nature to make sure I am constantly promoting myself. After work, I start dinner and also working on the business website. Making sure all marketing emails are processed and ready to be sent out. Those emails consist of announcing sales or upcoming product release or updates. When all of “business” is complete I am finally resting shutting down the house and doing my daily bible study. The routine sometimes change depending on if i have orders to process or if I need to restock products on the shelf due to increase in sales. Sometimes all I am doing is focusing on creating content for the social media pages. But each day is extremely eventful.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hello everyone, I am Cleopatra Ranay. I am a small business owner that has started an all natural business to help offer the best skin you can have with a natural glow, without the side effects from chemicals that are in a lot of products. My business is my baby and her name is Cleo’s Body Essentials. I started this business due to issues with my own sensitive skin not getting the moisture it needed using all different kinds of expensive lotions and creams. I have really naturally dry skin no matter how much i take care of it. And nothing was working for me. I started to look into a more holistic approach to helping my body hold on to moisture. Along with changing my diet, and drinking enough water, I needed to find a way to help my body not just suck up the oils from my skin. Because i was looking at a more holistic approach I started to learn the benefits of natural butters and oils. Once i started to use them on myself and notice how soft and smooth my skin got and how healthy it became I was in love. I started to get compliments on my skin and then it hit me. If i am having this issue how many other women or men are having these issues as well? So I decided to sale the products. Body Butters and Body Oils. Made with raw natural butters and Oils, and also using the benefits of many flowers and plants that the world has to offer. Mother Nature is good for our skin. And I encourage others, to try these products and see exactly what I mean.

Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. What did you believe about yourself as a child that you no longer believe?
As a child i always believed I wasn’t good enough for people to pay attention to. I was an all around athlete playing in many sports and always made really good grades in school (except in math). And still I didn’t seem to be enough for those who I was surrounded by. As i got older i realized that, it didn’t matter what anyone else thought of me as long as I was pleased with myself. I learned to find the good enough within myself and then keep making it better. As long as I was sincerely happy, I now feel always good enough for anything.

What fear has held you back the most in your life?
The fear of not being just as good. Or the fear of not gaining the audience I want. In the industry that I have entered with my Body Butters, there is a lot of it. You see all the creative people out there doing the same thing you are, or making the same product and you instantly are like, well how do I compete with that? And if you dwell on that, instead of it’s room for all of us, it can scare you away from the vision you were seeing for yourself and your business. The fear that comes with comparison once held me back. But now, I know my products are just as good, and can change just as many lives. And the people it’s meant to find will indeed find me. I have to stay consistent do the work and the success will come when it is my time.

I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. Is the public version of you the real you?
Yes! With me, what you see is what you get. I worked to hard to come out of my shell and figure out who I am to hide it, or mask who it is I truly am. I am one of the funniest, playful, serious, compassionate, smart, caring people you will ever know. I am a very determined person with a childlike personality. I am a ball of love when you take the time to get to know me. A lot of people don’t get to see me for me. But what you see publicly is exactly who i am.

Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
I think I would want for people to tell the story of how I did exactly what I wanted to do in all areas of life. I took risk that people close to me would never do. When people bet against me I did it anyways and everything I did was an adventure I will never regret. The story I want told about me is that I lived with no regret but all with faith. Every moved I made in life i prayed for protection to keep me safe and not take me to a place where i would be harmed. But to give me whatever lesson comes with this or whatever success comes from it. The story i hope would be that I created my own happiness and walked in it daily when others thought whatever in life would knock me down. That i was a walking genuine heart, that loved hard, and cared hard for those that were close to me.
