We recently had the chance to connect with Dana Carmel and have shared our conversation below.
Dana, really appreciate you sharing your stories and insights with us. The world would have so much more understanding and empathy if we all were a bit more open about our stories and how they have helped shaped our journey and worldview. Let’s jump in with a fun one: What is a normal day like for you right now?
A typical day starts early with family, getting my boys off to school before shifting into work mode. From there, I spend the mornings connecting with clients, reviewing market data, and coordinating with my team on active listings and upcoming launches. Afternoons are often filled with property tours, staging consultations, or negotiating deals. No two days are ever the same, but every day is centered around guiding clients through one of life’s biggest decisions with clarity and care.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Dana Carmel, founder of the Dana Carmel Group at Represent Realty. We’re a top-producing real estate team specializing in Menlo Park, Atherton, Palo Alto, and surrounding Silicon Valley neighborhoods. What makes us unique is our combination of hyper-local expertise, white-glove service, and deep community ties. Beyond sales volume, I’m proud that we’ve donated over $100,000 to local schools, and that our clients trust us for off-market opportunities and strategic listing approaches that truly set them apart. Right now, we’re expanding our off-market strategy to help more sellers maximize value while keeping the process smooth and discreet.
Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. Who taught you the most about work?
My clients have been my greatest teachers. Each transaction brings new lessons about patience, problem-solving, and the importance of listening deeply to people’s needs.
If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
Trust the process. The twists and turns that feel overwhelming now will shape you into someone stronger, wiser, and more empathetic than you could imagine.
Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. Whom do you admire for their character, not their power?
I admire teachers. They lead with patience, empathy, and a genuine investment in others’ growth, qualities I try to bring into my own work with clients and my team.
Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
I hope people say that I helped them feel cared for during an important life transition, that I was generous with my time and resources, and that I left a positive impact on the community I love.
