We’re looking forward to introducing you to Elena Dinaburg. Check out our conversation below.
Elena, it’s always a pleasure to learn from you and your journey. Let’s start with a bit of a warmup: What is a normal day like for you right now?
Every day looks a little different, and that’s what keeps me inspired. Some mornings I’m knee-deep in design concepts, other days I’m on set for a video shoot or meeting with clients to talk about new ideas. I thrive on variety — one moment I’m sketching out a campaign vision, the next I’m problem-solving a web project or reviewing brand strategy decks. It’s busy, but it’s creative chaos — and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Elena Dinaburg, the founder of VIVID Advertising Group, based in Dallas, TX — where creativity meets strategy. I started VIVID because I wanted to build brands that people could feel — not just recognize. Every logo, website, and video we create is designed to tell a story that resonates emotionally and visually.
What makes VIVID different is our hands-on, boutique approach. We partner closely with every client — from local entrepreneurs to national brands — and bring their vision to life with detail, personality, and purpose.
My journey started with a passion for design and a belief that every brand deserves to be unforgettable. Today, VIVID is more than an agency — it’s a creative studio built on collaboration, authenticity, and bold ideas.
We’re currently expanding our video production and digital storytelling services — creating compelling videos for social media, websites, testimonials, promotional content, and even commercials. Our goal is to help brands tell their stories through powerful visuals that connect with their audience on every platform.
Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. What’s a moment that really shaped how you see the world?
A defining moment for me was when I decided to step away from the security of working for others and start building something of my own. That leap changed how I see the world — it taught me to view challenges as opportunities and creativity as a way to solve problems, not just express ideas.
Around that same time, I worked on a project where the client teared up seeing their brand come to life for the first time. It wasn’t just about the design — it was that their story finally felt seen. That moment reminded me why I do what I do. It showed me that great branding isn’t only about visuals; it’s about connection, emotion, and helping people feel proud of what they’ve built.
Ever since, that’s how I’ve approached both life and business — with empathy, intention, and a belief that creativity has the power to move people.
What fear has held you back the most in your life?
The fear of failure held me back the most. For a long time, I thought everything had to be perfect before I could take the next step — the perfect plan, the perfect timing, the perfect outcome. But in reality, perfection doesn’t exist, and waiting for it only slows you down. Once I learned to move forward despite fear — to take imperfect action — everything changed. It’s when I started trusting my instincts that real growth began.
I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. What are the biggest lies your industry tells itself?
One of the biggest lies in the advertising industry is that flashy visuals or clever slogans are enough. The truth is, creativity alone doesn’t build lasting brands — strategy does. Too often, agencies chase trends or short-term attention instead of focusing on what really matters: connection, clarity, and consistency.
At VIVID, we believe that great design is only powerful when it’s backed by purpose. A brand can’t just look good — it has to mean something. The future of advertising isn’t about being louder; it’s about being smarter, more intentional, and more human.
Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. If you retired tomorrow, what would your customers miss most?
I think they’d miss the connection most — the sense of partnership and care that goes into everything we do. At VIVID, our clients know we’re as invested in their brand as they are. We don’t just create campaigns; we help them find their voice and show up in the world with clarity and confidence.
What makes our relationships special is that we’re not afraid to push for what’s best — to challenge ideas, refine details, and make sure every piece of work truly represents who they are. If I retired tomorrow, I think they’d miss that mix of creative passion, honesty, and genuine dedication to their success.
