Elian Haan shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.
Hi Elian, thank you for taking the time to reflect back on your journey with us. I think our readers are in for a real treat. There is so much we can all learn from each other and so thank you again for opening up with us. Let’s get into it: What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
I need to start my day with quiet time, I enjoy sitting outside with my coffee and my birds in the back yard. I enjoy a meditation or recently, a breathwork community where we start together in silence and sharing. I will check emails and messages, connect with my team and I like to go for an early walk when it is still cool. After getting ready I am usually in my home office at 9 am or, twice a week, I teach an early morning exercise class.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi, I’m Elian Haan, a Trauma-Informed Executive Coach, Speaker, Author, Fitness Studio owner and Wellness Strategist dedicated to helping leaders, professionals, and high performers in midlife reset, realign, and reclaim their power. After decades in the physical and mental health and wellness space, I’ve come to believe this truth: success means nothing if you’re burned out, stuck, or silently suffering. In my coaching practice I blend mindset, movement, nervous system resilience, and leadership tools to help executives, entrepreneurs, and changemakers move from overwhelmed and stuck to unstoppable.
Whether I’m guiding a CEO through a midlife reinvention, helping a team realign with purpose, or speaking and sharing at a wellness summit or a webinar I created, my mission is always to transform stress into strength, trauma into triumph, and burnout into bold, radiant leadership.
I’m not just a coach. I’m a practitioner—with real, trauma-informed tools that work in the boardroom and the body.
I teach self-mastery, nervous system regulation, and sustainable success. My coach approach is deep, direct, and joyful. I aim to bring solutions, spirit, and strategy into every room I step into.
Upcoming is my “The Freedom Formula Masterclass” starting early September, It is a 5-week transformational coaching experience for women in midlife who are so done with over giving, overworking, and overwhelm.
If you’re ready to stop surviving and start thriving, this is your sign. We kick off September 2, 2025, live on Zoom. https://masterclass.elianhaan.com
Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. What was your earliest memory of feeling powerful?
My break though moment came in my mid-forties, when I felt clearly “done”, and realized I was in a place of unhappiness and negativity. I refer to this moment and the life before that as my “former life”, where I struggled with unresolved trauma, trust issues, the need to be seen and heard, perfectionism as a coping mechanism and a need to please everyone and fit in, just to mention a few. After deep reflection and years of inner work, I realized I was living in a framework of expectations coming from childhood, my twenties and early thirties, living life by the standards of others, with missed opportunities for myself, not realizing my own gifts, skills and strengths. I always felt different, as if I couldn’t fit in while I tried so hard, but slowly I started to realize I had to start respecting myself, embrace being different and unique, and love myself. From that place I started thriving and feeling alive. My power lives inside myself and I fully embrace that on a daily base, and from that place I can care and share with others.
If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
This is what I would tell myself: You’re not too much. You never were.
Your fire, your feelings, your fierce compassion are your gifts.
One day, you’ll stop apologizing for who you are… and start using it to change lives.
You don’t have to shrink to belong.
You were never meant to live inside the expectations framework of others.
Your voice is powerful. One day, you’ll stop waiting to be chosen and start choosing yourself. And when you finally speak from your truth, not for approval, but for impact…
You’ll change lives—including your own.
I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. How do you differentiate between fads and real foundational shifts?
Fads are loud. Foundational shifts are discovered, transformed and truly lived.
I’ve never been one to chase trends or follow the crowd, maybe because it is not a cultural thing for me, or maybe because I am very grounded in nature. Fads fade because they’re built on noise, not truth, and it doesn’t interest me much. I do believe we spend too much time on things that are not important, so I try to conserve my me-time and stay away from the latest and newest. (although I am weak when it comes to pumpkin spice latte season and find myself entirely excited over expensive coffee, LOL)
Real transformation is quiet, consistent, and rooted in values that don’t shake when the spotlight moves on. I believe in doing the deep work, not the shiny, surface-level stuff. I believe in walking your own path, not waiting for permission or popularity.
That’s not trendy, that’s truth. The real difference?
Fads ask you to fit in. Foundations ask you to rise up. That is more me.
Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. If you retired tomorrow, what would your customers miss most?
If I retire tomorrow, my clients wouldn’t just miss my coaching sessions, they will miss being seen. They’d miss the way I hear the things they don’t say out loud. They’d miss the mix of tough love and deep compassion that calls them forward, not back.
They’d miss the energy, humor, and heart I bring into every room. Most of all, they’d miss the safe space I create for them to stop pretending, release old expectations, and step into the power of their own voice, resilience, and identity. Because I don’t just coach, I walk beside them until they can walk boldly on their own. I love what I do and I do what I love, and try to set an example living in joy, knowing I have a choice every morning, to choose gratefulness and trust, knowing that God knows my path.
