Life, Values & Legacy: Our Chat with Erica Warner

Erica Warner shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

Erica, so good to connect and we’re excited to share your story and insights with our audience. There’s a ton to learn from your story, but let’s start with a warm up before we get into the heart of the interview. Have any recent moments made you laugh or feel proud?
Yes, the recent moment that made me laugh was when my daughters and I were coming back from the store when a big grasshopper jumped on my leg and I yelled. I hurried up and swiped it off my pants leg. Meanwhile people was wondering what was going on. We laughed at that for the rest of the day.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hello my name is Erica Warner and I’m 42 yrs old. I am the Founder/CEO of Mildred’s Bar and Grill. I started a restaurant business because I love to cook and bake. I want to make it into a Food truck first though. Cooking makes me happy and other people too.

I’m working on some other projects like help write 2 TV shows. I’m also creating my cookbooks. One for children that would include easy recipes and one for adults. I also want to start to create content with my cooking tutorials and modeling clothes for different clothing brands.

Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. What was your earliest memory of feeling powerful?
My earliest memory of feeling powerful is when I finished all my paperwork for Mildred’s Bar and Grill. I believed in myself and I took the step. That day I really did feel powerful.

What have been the defining wounds of your life—and how have you healed them?
The defining wounds of my life was how my so called family didn’t want anything to do with me. I was always by myself trying to figure everything out without no help from my family. I healed my wounds by keeping God first, getting stronger, loving myself, and surrounding myself around people who really care about me.

Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? Is the public version of you the real you?
Yes the public version of myself is really who I am. I’m loving, respectable, kind, smart, and good to people. I don’t be fake at all. I’m a great person to be around.

Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. When do you feel most at peace?
When I feel most at peace is when the people who are close to me are happy. I can make a nice meal and sit with each other and talk about anything. That’s what brings me peace.
