Life, Values & Legacy: Our Chat with Gio Drasconi of New York City

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Gio Drasconi . Check out our conversation below.

Good morning Gio, it’s such a great way to kick off the day – I think our readers will love hearing your stories, experiences and about how you think about life and work. Let’s jump right in? What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
“I love exploring restaurants and treating myself to gourmet food—especially when it ends in a decadent slice of tiramisu and a perfectly made cappuccino.”

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m an actor and producer passionate about telling compelling, emotionally resonant stories through film and television. My journey began with a love for performance and storytelling that evolved into a full-time career in front of—and behind—the camera. What sets me apart is my commitment to portraying layered, authentic characters and supporting independent cinema that pushes creative boundaries. Whether I’m acting or producing, I’m drawn to projects with depth, grit, and heart. Right now, I’m developing several new film projects that explore the human condition from fresh, diverse perspectives. Off set, I’m a big fan of gourmet food, tiramisu, and a well-crafted cappuccino—they’re my small joys that keep me grounded.

Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
“That would have to be my mom—she recognized my potential when I was feeling lost and scared, and encouraged me to give acting a chance. Without her, I wouldn’t be on this path today.”

If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
“You’re stronger than you think, and your passion will lead you to where you’re meant to be. Don’t let fear hold you back—just take that first step. The right people will believe in you, and you’ll learn to believe in yourself too.”

I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. Whom do you admire for their character, not their power?
“I admire my mom most of all—her faith, selflessness, and courage during the hardest time of our lives showed me what real strength and kindness look like. I also admire the directors, casting directors, and my acting coach, Frank Rossi—people who saw my potential and lifted me up not because of power, but because they believed in me.”

Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. What do you understand deeply that most people don’t?
“I understand how powerful faith, love, and belief can be—especially in moments of darkness. Most people underestimate how a single word of encouragement, or one person believing in you, can change your life. My journey into acting started because my mom someone I love saw something in me before I did. That taught me the importance of seeing others with compassion and never taking those small moments of support for granted.”
