We recently had the chance to connect with Gregg DaCosta and have shared our conversation below.
Gregg, a huge thanks to you for investing the time to share your wisdom with those who are seeking it. We think it’s so important for us to share stories with our neighbors, friends and community because knowledge multiples when we share with each other. Let’s jump in: What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
The first 90 minutes of my day is me first thanking God for another day, then getting out of bed doing some light workouts then posting an AI video or just content throughout social media. After that is done depending if I don’t have a gig to go to, I usually try to just relax and keep my mind calm.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Gregg DaCosta, I’m the owner of Gregg DaCosta Studios, I am a filmmaker and content creator. What makes my brand interesting is that not only do I dive into the world of cinema, but I also go into this new age of AI where it has been growing and getting bigger every day. I’ve been able to grow to over 70+ thousand followers on Instagram and over 120 thousand followers on TikTok all by posting consistently for almost 8 months straight. What my goal is to work on next is bringing together film and ai in my future work, so if you’re a supporter of my work definitely stay on the look out on how you can support on that when I start those up!
Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
Someone who saw me clearly before I could see myself is my mother. She has always seen my potential, and when I was younger I could never understand half of the stuff she seen with me. Now being older I’ve realized she was right, and she always guided me in the right direction, she’s a loving woman who always wants best for me. So I’ll tell the world this, if you have your mother or your father in your life today, value those moments because you don’t get another one like that.
What did suffering teach you that success never could?
Suffering taught me that no matter how bad you fail, you always learn from your mistakes. For me I don’t take losses, I take three L’s in life, which are “Life Learned Lessons”, I believe if you can learn from any mistakes or sufferings in life you can learn a powerful lesson on how to move forward. You have to realize in this world that you are the key to success, you choose which doors to unlock and which does to lock.
Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. Is the public version of you the real you?
The public version of me is the only version of me. I don’t know how to really hide being myself. I don’t think that would ever be able to work for me unless I was acting for film or something, and even with that I still give a certain percentage of myself to the role.
Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
I hope that people tell the story about how I never gave up on my dreams. That’s truly important to me because for me I never wanted to have those what if moments in my life, I always wanted people to be able to do the same. If they feel like they can accomplish it, to go out there and get it. When you think of something good in life, that’s when you should want to get it done, so I want people to understand that with everything that I did I’ve always placed my energy into things getting done, so I never had to say to myself, what if.
