Life, Values & Legacy: Our Chat with Harley ☆TCG

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Harley ☆TCG. Check out our conversation below.

Hi Harley, thank you so much for taking time out of your busy day to share your story, experiences and insights with our readers. Let’s jump right in with an interesting one: What’s more important to you—intelligence, energy, or integrity?
Intelligence, it’s the root foundation of everything.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi, I’m Harley☆TCG Aurora, I’m a Kaigai Jpop idol and JFashion creative based out of Saint Louis, Missouri!

My focus in creating is primarily faeries & fairytale legends and folklore leaning towards the supernatural, my friends know me as The Fae of STL. It’s lovely to meet you, Readers!

Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. What part of you has served its purpose and must now be released?
Coming up I would rely on gossip and clique dynamics a lot, learning to leave those younger aspects of myself behind while holding myself to the standard of committing to relying on myself outside of them was a hard lesson I’m glad to have learned.

What have been the defining wounds of your life—and how have you healed them?
Growing up adopted into an arts household was a double edged sword.
In part the wound began with being raised by neither reputable nor safe parents/extended family with a past of extreme racial biases and narcissistic behavior patterns in my first nineteen years was a major wound I have worked daily to overcome, closing that wound was hard work.

In facing this challenge especially at an extremely young age wasn’t easy nor was it simple, in learning to take action in closing this wound I learned self reliance and importantly the ability in identifying individuals who exist with harmful traits identical or similar in the wild.
This has been an invaluable tool, always look at people’s eyes & mouths.

Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. Whom do you admire for their character, not their power?
The late Principal Ballerina Mabinty “Michaela” DePrince and jpop idol, Yui Yokoyama.
Mabinty’s discipline and determination to keep moving despite everything life threw at her really inspired me growing up, her resilience inspires me especially as a fellow Black Ballerina Adoptee.

Yokoyama Yui’s resolve to not only push her group for success and navigate through a pandemic to ensure AKB48 could celebrate its long awaited comeback in the year 2025 on top of her no nonsense can do attitude inspires me to create my own idol choreography and costuming(more on that later!)

Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: What do you understand deeply that most people don’t?
Allow individuals who won’t even respect themselves drift off or walk away, you need to love yourself eventually.
Chaos is an option, choose wisely.
