We recently had the chance to connect with Hudson Boyce & Mason Boyce and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Hudson & Mason, thank you so much for joining us today. We’re thrilled to learn more about your journey, values and what you are currently working on. Let’s start with an ice breaker: What are you chasing, and what would happen if you stopped?
We’re chasing the journey. And if we stopped chasing, we wouldn’t be the Boyce Bros anymore. This is what we do, this is how we grow, and this is how we honor the blessings we’ve been given.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
We’re just two brothers who love lacrosse, love creating, and love Jesus. We feel super blessed to do this as a family. Our brand is special because it’s real—it’s kids chasing their dreams, learning as we go, encouraging other players, and showing that faith, family, and hard work can take you far. We’re working on more training videos, more mic’d-ups, our podcast, and hoping to inspire as many young athletes as we can. We even have a secret book in the works set to launch in early 2026. We will update you when we get there and we hope to bring lacrosse to early readers and get them excited about playing.
Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. Who taught you the most about work?
Dad shows us how to push. Mom teaches us how to stay grounded. Together they teach us that hard work means more than sweat—it means character, faith, and doing things the right way even when no one’s watching. We’re really blessed to have parents who believe in us and want us to grow in every way, not just as lacrosse players.
What’s something you changed your mind about after failing hard?
Failing hard taught us that failure isn’t the finish line. It’s the rep before the breakthrough. You don’t grow by winning easy—you grow by getting knocked down, learning something real, and choosing to stand back up
Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? What are the biggest lies your industry tells itself?
If the industry dropped the pressure and the shortcuts and focused more on joy, teamwork, and the long game, youth lacrosse would be even better for everyone. One of the biggest lies is that you have to be the biggest, fastest kid right now to become a great lacrosse player. That’s just not true. We’ve played against smaller kids with huge heart and crazy skill, and they’re awesome. Lacrosse isn’t just about all size, it’s also about IQ, effort, and loving the work.
Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. What are you doing today that won’t pay off for 7–10 years?
On the lacrosse side, we’re working on all the little things people don’t notice; footwork, strength, vision, and being a smarter defender. None of that pays off right away. But in 7–10 years, that’s the stuff that decides whether we can play at a really high level. I’m building habits now that future-me will depend on. Our road to the pros is a journey we want to share with others.
And then with Boyce Bros Lacrosse, everything we’re doing right now—posting consistently, mic’d-up videos, highlights, growing our community—none of that is for short-term clout. We’re building something that we hope lasts. We want it to be a place where kids feel encouraged, where the game grows, and where people see two brothers chasing big dreams with their family and their faith.
Yeah, we’re just getting started. We’re planting seeds. We don’t know where this brand will be in 7–10 years, but we hope it’s something that inspires other young players and maybe even helps us get to college or support our family one day.
