We’re looking forward to introducing you to INTERNET FAMOUS. Check out our conversation below.
INTERNET, really appreciate you sharing your stories and insights with us. The world would have so much more understanding and empathy if we all were a bit more open about our stories and how they have helped shaped our journey and worldview. Let’s jump in with a fun one: What do you think others are secretly struggling with—but never say?
This is probably a pretty strong topic to start to an interview with but why not address the Elephant in the room (I do love Elephants by the way so no shame to them). MENTAL HEALTH! I couldn’t even begin to describe the struggles I’ve had with this in recent days, weeks, or years, maybe my whole life. It’s only recently that I’ve been seeking professional help or discussing this topic more with close friends or strangers when it has time to be addressed or is urgent to bring it up. I know I’m not the only one who has a hard time keeping it together when there is so many stressful situations flowing in by the minute at times for so many people. It could be anything really that takes a toll. For example it could be about relationships maybe they are toxic, family/no family, friends/no friends, work environments/lack of work, finances/bills, politics/war, health/bad health, just sooo many things that effect our daily lives and way of living. I know it’s never easy for me even when things are going “good” because somewhere there is something lurking in our minds and clouding it with worry about things that aren’t going good. I really think it is important for each of us as individuals to be able to take a breather, find a way to find some calm in the storm that brews around and inside of our head. A lot of people are ashamed or embarrassed to discuss they have some mental issues going on, they don’t want others to know what is happening and that can be a very lonely & dark place to be. If you have friends, family, or anyone who could be a support system to talk about this with I would hope you could have them set some time aside to discuss this so they are aware and maybe look into some options for professional help. If you have no one and it’s just you I’d recommend just googling for ways to find therapist or ways to get mental help through your insurance if you have it (that’s a whole topic itself obviously). If you don’t have any there are also free or low cost help options out there you just need to do a little bit of research. Maybe your city/county has something for in person you could go or you could potentially find free programs online to join. Just please if things are tough do a little reaching out to whoever you can that is willing to listen, and keep seeking until you find someone. Never give up on yourself, there will be better days. You just need to get through the tough ones just as you always have. I know for me there are days I feel completely defeated, I can’t let myself fold no matter how hard it gets because there is always something beautiful to come after the rain stops like a sunny day or beautiful blooming flowers & amazing things happen in my life that make it all worth what I went through. I believe the same happens for you. <3
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Absolutely! First off, thank you to the Canvas Rebel Team for the invite to connect with your amazing viewers a little bit more!
My name is Erik from INTERNET FAMOUS. I bring captivating listening experiences and entertainment for lovely people of all types in various environments through DJ’ing. I produce music for people to enjoy at all times of the day and night. Behind the scenes I am connecting dots and connections for individuals and businesses to help them grow.
When it comes to DJ’ing there is no end to where I am willing to go and play music for all types of crowds. I could be performing at a vibey day time party on a rooftop pool or by the water, at someone’s wedding (which is pretty much the biggest day of their life), at a high end bottle service club, a super underground after-hours venue, and on a flight to play at a Big Festival in another state ALL WITHIN THE SAME 24 HOURS. I literally have no limits to where the music takes me and I wouldn’t trade the ability to connect with people through music with anything else.
When I am not working on my solo projects, I work with individuals and groups from Grammy Artists (The Recording Academy) to local musicians, and producers in and outside of the studio. We are constantly creating something new and exciting, editing sounds, and making what is going to be the future of music as we all know it. I now also teach people how to DJ and/or produce music which has been really awesome. There is so many new projects coming out this fall & can’t wait for everyone to be on the lookout for on all platforms!
Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. What breaks the bonds between people—and what restores them?
In my own life and career, I’ve noticed that bonds usually break down when miscommunication happens. For me, it hasn’t always been the mistake itself that caused distance, but when someone fell short and never communicated about it or didn’t acknowledge it with an apology and proper response. That silence or mistrust created space for assumptions, and that’s often where the line was drawn.
On the other hand, some of my strongest connections both personally and professionally have come from people who chose to communicate openly and honestly. I’ve built lasting friendships and continuous, mutually beneficial business relationships simply because we made it a priority to talk things through, listen to each other, and stay transparent.
That lesson shows up in my artistry and DJ career as well. Music is built on connection, reading a crowd, feeding off mine and their energy, and creating a shared experience in real time. None of that works without communication, even if it’s nonverbal. The trust between an artist and the audience, or between collaborators on a project, only grows stronger when there’s honesty and clarity.
I believe that applies to life in general: miscommunication breaks bonds, but communication restores them. Whether it’s on stage, in business, or in personal relationships, things are always better when people are honest and keep the dialogue open. That’s what builds trust, and that’s what makes connections last.
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Absolutely. I’d be lying if I said I hadn’t. There’s been so many times I’ve felt defeated, put into a lonely corner, felt like there was no way to continue life or my passion for sharing music & love to the world. These feelings or situations were from all kinds of stressful circumstances but ultimately it comes down to resistance, persistence, and faith that there is a way out. There is a better future even if that day isn’t exactly tomorrow. You have to trust and believe in yourself even in the darkest hour that you CAN keep going and that nothing will stop you. Trust the process even when you face failures, when you have support or when you don’t. I’m very thankful for those low days and nights because it forced me to grow stronger each time. You can pivot your direction, learn lessons, adapt to change, embrace your individuality. We all experience difficult times, it’s important to love yourself and believe in yourself even when you feel you have nothing left. Just DON’T GIVE UP! Your future you thank yourself that you kept going. You will learn that you are cherished, loved, and that this world is a better place with YOU in it. (:
So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. Is the public version of you the real you?
Yes and no. I think the public version of me is what people know of me in the moment they meet me or hear about me. I’d like to think I’m genuine about who I am, but it comes down to an individual’s perception from what they experience when in the presence of me or what they see online. I feel there are only a select few close people who would know the real me but it’s still from their unique take on our shared moments together. I would even say the mass majority of people know me from concerts, shows, clubs, private events and though they may know who I am or how I am in person or virtually that I am constantly evolving every day. I continue to try and be better than I was yesterday or today so there may never be fully knowing the real me or the current version because by the time this is being read on their phone or laptop I have already learned something new to apply in my life and I am constantly trying to improve. Fundamentally I believe in respecting others, being kind, sharing love and doing good as much as possible. I would hope that people at least know that. I will continue to o share what I can through my music. I’m always intrigued to know a little bit of the real version of you and hope to cross paths at a show, the streets, or the Internet and share stories!
Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. If you knew you had 10 years left, what would you stop doing immediately?
Stop procrastinating. Waiting to get things done is a time burner and affects our ability to progress. Someone close to me. recently said “Don’t put off until tomorrow what you can do today.” which I believe originally attributed to Benjamin Franklin. I’m sure there is so much more I could have learned or have gotten done had I applied more efforts and energy into things that should have been done long before I had gotten around to them. I believe at times opportunity windows close, life moves fast, and even if we all work hard or are busy that we can get our checklists knocked out in priority by finding ways to be more efficient. It’s a mind over matter kind of thing and if I had 10 years, 100 years, or 1 day this is something I could improve in. Ideally all In priority and harmony of course. We don’t know where life can take us if we don’t make those steps so let’s get to movin’!
