Life, Values & Legacy: Our Chat with Isa Marie

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Isa Marie. Check out our conversation below.

Hi Isa, thank you so much for taking time out of your busy day to share your story, experiences and insights with our readers. Let’s jump right in with an interesting one: What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
I always do my morning routine every single day! This includes spending time with God, a mindful meditation, sipping my coffee, and writing in my journal. It helps me set the tone and start the day on a good note. I truly believe mornings either make or break the day.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
If you haven’t read about me before, my name is Isa Marie, and I am a full-time UGC creator/content creator / paid ads specialist. I’ve been doing UGC for almost 3 years now and went full-time in May 2024. I dropped out of 2 different universities in Michigan, and for a long time, I felt stuck in life. But I always knew I wanted to do something great and make a name for myself. I always loved creating content in school (it wasn’t labeled as that just because I liked to make silly musicallys and funny YouTube videos), but I grew up making at-home movies just for the fun of it. After I dropped out, I heard about UGC all over social media and it intrigued me since I always loved creating content with my favorite products. Plus, you didn’t need to have a large following to be a paid UGC creator, which made the entry easier. I took the leap and started out as cringey, but I knew I wanted to do this. The journey isn’t always easy, but I didn’t give up. I stayed consistent and grew my UGC business to now working with top brands like Amazon, Motion, Buff City Soap, Roblox, Bumble Dating, and Opill for UGC. It’s so crazy to think about how these big brands hired and trusted me with their content needs. I leaned more into paid ads since my videos have driven significant results for the brands I worked with and I have a keen sense when it comes to creating ads that convert and drive loyal customers. Aside from UGC, I also help other UGC creators online scale their business with my digital products that I offer through my social media channels. I help my clients fill the gap between their potential customers and why people should trust them through high-quality UGC. With my unique personality, style, and storytelling in my content, this has helped me stand out from the rest. I specifically go out of my way to figure out my clients’ pain points. I’m super proud of how far I’ve made it in my business, and I would love for everyone to know that I take pride in what I do and I deliver only the best service. I am a great asset to my clients, and I’m super grateful to have strong relationships with them.

Okay, so here’s a deep one: Who taught you the most about work?
Before I became a business owner, I had an amazing job at a local cakery in Midtown Detroit. It was small & independently-owned, but now it’s grown so much! When I worked there, I got to grow a relationship with the owner. I noticed how she handled the cakery when she came in and how she responded to certain situations. I took mental notes of her strategy and really admired how she carried the business. She was always calm, resilient, and most importantly, always had faith, even if things didn’t go as planned for the cakery. Working there for over a year taught me a great deal about business through hands-on experience. And to me, this was the most valuable experience that helped me grow as a business owner after I parted ways with the job due to moving to a new state. I always knew I wanted to have my own business, so when I started my UGC business, I remembered the key actions and mindset that my old boss did to grow her cakery, and I really thank her for having me there and teaching me so many things!

What’s something you changed your mind about after failing hard?
I developed my confidence and self-esteem through long periods of repetition and self-practice. I knew I always wanted to be the confident and charismatic woman I’ve pictured myself as throughout childhood, and I had to learn that confidence and high self-esteem are dedicated practices that you owe yourself to grow. Luckily, with the information we can obtain through the latest tech, I researched for days on how to be a confident and successful woman. What I learned the most is that telling yourself you are ALREADY confident is what makes you confident. Fake it until you make it, say affirmations every day, walk into every room like you belong there, and keep your head up high always. I don’t do anything that doesn’t align with who I want to be, so when I’m speaking or walk into a networking event, I don’t fidget, put my head down, or do something that doesn’t scream “I’m so confident”. But the more you practice, the more you get better. Confidence and having high self-esteem are skills that anyone can learn, and I’m really grateful for the information out there that’s helped me be confident and successful.

Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. Where are smart people getting it totally wrong today?
I would say a lot of smart individuals feel that they need to go the typical route — go to college, get a degree, get a high-paying job, and take out several finances, like financing a car, upgrading their lifestyle, etc. However, I believe that all of us have our own route and journey. The “American” dream is completely different now, and online businesses/income is the best way to become financially free. Even if it’s difficult to start a business, or if it’s too “risky”, or takes too long. More people need to follow their dreams and take action. Do what you love, and turn it into a profitable career.

Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. Are you doing what you were born to do—or what you were told to do?
I fully believe I am doing what I was born to do. My faith is my entire life, and I’ve spent a lot of time taking on risks and putting myself in potentially “bad” situations, to make the most out of myself. I’ve had tons of losses, but these all helped me get to where I’m at today. I did it when I was broke, I did it when I wasn’t ready, I did it when everyone told me no. I developed self-love early on, and it made me realize that if I didn’t try, I would be doing myself a huge disservice. I would never want to spend my entire life knowing that I never took a chance on myself.
