Izabella Kogut shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.
Izabella , really appreciate you sharing your stories and insights with us. The world would have so much more understanding and empathy if we all were a bit more open about our stories and how they have helped shaped our journey and worldview. Let’s jump in with a fun one: What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
As the founder of Bella Posture Wear, my mornings are intentionally structured to optimize my energy, focus, and physical alignment—key elements that fuel both my personal well-being and the demands of running a company focused on posture correction and empowerment.
I wake up around 6:00–6:30 AM, starting with hydration: a large glass of warm water with fresh lemon and a pinch of Himalayan salt, sometimes spiced with turmeric or ginger for anti-inflammatory benefits. This simple ritual kickstarts my digestion, supports detoxification, and sets a calm, intentional tone.
Next, I move into movement and exercise for about 30–45 minutes. This typically includes a mix of strength training, mobility work, or yoga-inspired flows that emphasize posture—drawing directly from the principles behind my brand. It activates my core and back muscles, helping me maintain the alignment I advocate for daily.
Following exercise, I do a contrast shower: alternating hot and cold water (finishing with 2–3 minutes of cold plunge or exposure). This boosts circulation, reduces inflammation, and sharpens mental clarity—it’s one of my go-to biohacks for resilience.
While in the shower or during transitions, I listen to podcasts that align with my interests in health, trauma recovery, and performance optimization. My favorites include:
• The Biology of Trauma by Dr. Aimie Apigian (for understanding how stress and past experiences impact the body),
• The Drive by Dr. Peter Attia (deep dives into longevity and science-backed habits),
• Huberman Lab by Dr. Andrew Huberman (practical neuroscience for better sleep, focus, and recovery).
By this point (around 90 minutes in), I’m energized and grounded. I wrap up with a high-protein breakfast—think eggs, Greek yogurt, or a smoothie with collagen, greens, and healthy fats—paired with my daily supplements (like magnesium, omega-3s, and adaptogens).
This routine isn’t just self-care; it’s a deliberate investment in showing up as my best self for my team, customers, and the mission of helping people stand taller and live pain-free.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m the founder of Bella Posture Wear, a brand dedicated to helping people stand taller, move better, and feel more confident through innovative, comfortable posture correction.
Poor posture isn’t just a habit—it’s an epidemic fueled by excessive screen time, stress, and daily life demands, leading to neck and back pain, forward head posture, rounded shoulders, and even issues like TMJ or Thoracic Outlet Syndrome. I created Bella Posture Wear to address this in a way that feels natural and empowering, rather than restrictive.
Our flagship product is a patent-pending posture corrective garment—a stylish long-sleeve top (with a crop top version coming soon) that looks like trendy activewear but works like a gentle training tool. Made in the USA from strong, non-toxic fabric that feels like a second skin, it features built-in bands that subtly guide your shoulders back, align your spine, open your chest, and encourage core engagement. Unlike stiff braces, it promotes natural muscle activation and proprioceptive feedback, helping build lasting strength and muscle memory over time—no batteries, apps, or vibrations required.
What makes Bella special is how it blends fashion with function: it’s discreet under clothes, unisex, and designed for real life. It’s particularly supportive for menopausal women, those with osteoporosis, yoga practitioners, and anyone battling device-induced posture problems. Endorsed by experts like occupational therapists, yoga therapists, and physical therapists, it bridges science, movement, and mindful living to relieve pain, boost breathing, enhance balance, and elevate confidence.
Right now, I’m especially excited to be developing a dedicated menswear line—a tailored version of our corrective posture garment designed specifically for men. This new iteration will maintain the same science-backed, natural-activation approach while offering a fit, fabric, and style that resonates with men’s bodies and lifestyles.
At its core, Bella Posture Wear is about transformation—helping people not just correct posture, but truly own the way they carry themselves. We’re redefining posture support as a lifestyle upgrade, and I’m thrilled to continue growing this movement toward a world where everyone can move with poise and live pain-free.
Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. Who were you before the world told you who you had to be?
I was born this way—independent, resourceful, and fiercely determined to help others, even from a young age. I’ve always been blunt, unafraid to push boundaries and speak my truth, while constantly challenging myself to my absolute limits. Adventure has been a constant thread: taking calculated risks, exploring new places and ideas, and staying endlessly curious about people, the world, science, and technology. Through it all, I’ve remained kind to everyone I meet and never lost my sense of humor—it’s what keeps me grounded and connected.
That core hasn’t changed; it’s the same fire that drove me to found Bella Posture Wear. I saw a gap in how we address posture—too many solutions felt restrictive, uncomfortable, or gimmicky—so I created something that aligns with who I truly am: empowering, innovative, and rooted in real human potential. The brand is an extension of that innate drive to help people stand taller, not just physically, but in how they show up in the world.
Is there something you miss that no one else knows about?
Yes, there’s something I miss deeply that I rarely share openly: the dream of having a family—a loving husband and children. It’s the quiet ache that lives in the background of my life, even as I’ve built something meaningful with Bella Posture Wear.
From a young age, I pictured that kind of love and connection—coming home to a partner who truly sees me, raising kids who fill the house with laughter and chaos, building traditions and memories together. It was always part of the vision I held for my future. But life took a different path. I poured myself into my education, my career, and helping others, telling myself that focusing on independence and impact was enough. And in many ways, it has been—I’m proud of the strength I’ve cultivated and the way I’ve turned that drive into creating something that truly helps people.
Still, there are moments, especially in the stillness of early mornings or when I see families together, when the longing surfaces. I miss what never was, and I sometimes wonder what it would feel like to have that chapter too. It’s not regret, exactly—it’s more of a tender, private wish for the fullness of both worlds: the meaningful work I’ve built and the intimate, everyday love I always hoped for.
I don’t talk about it much because I don’t want it to overshadow the gratitude I feel for where I am now. But sharing it here feels honest. It’s part of who I am—the dreamer who still believes in love and family, even while I’m out here helping others stand taller in their own lives.
Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. What truths are so foundational in your life that you rarely articulate them?
Here are the truths that run so deep in me that I almost never put them into words—they’re just the quiet gravity that shapes how I move through the world:
1. I am enough exactly as I am.
I don’t need to earn love, worth, or belonging by achieving more, fixing more, or looking a certain way. This one is foundational because so much of my life has been spent proving I could “do it all” alone. But at my core, I know my value isn’t tied to productivity, success, or having a traditional family. I’m still learning to live from that knowing every day.
2. The body remembers everything.
Trauma, stress, joy, love—it all lives in our tissues, our posture, our breath. This is why I’m so passionate about posture correction: it’s not just about standing straight; it’s about releasing what the body has been holding for years. I’ve seen it in myself and in others—when we give the body permission to realign, old patterns start to dissolve. It’s a truth I live by, even if I don’t say it out loud often.
3. Connection is the real medicine.
Whether it’s a kind word to a stranger, deep conversation with a friend, or simply being present with someone in pain, genuine human connection heals more than any supplement or gadget ever could. I’ve built my life around helping others feel seen and supported—through Bella Posture Wear, through conversations, through showing up authentically. It’s my quiet north star.
4. I was born to create and to give.
I’ve always been wired this way: to build things, solve problems, and lift others up. It’s not a choice; it’s who I am. Even when life felt heavy, that drive to create something meaningful and share it kept me going. Bella Posture Wear is just the latest expression of that lifelong impulse.
5. Love is still possible, even if it looks different than I once imagined.
I’ve grieved the family I dreamed of, but I haven’t closed the door on love—romantic, familial, or otherwise. I believe it can still arrive in beautiful, unexpected forms. Holding that hope without bitterness is one of the quietest, strongest truths I carry.
These are the bedrock beliefs I rarely articulate because they’re so woven into how I live and lead. They don’t need to be spoken to be true—they simply are.
Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. Could you give everything your best, even if no one ever praised you for it?
Yes, I could—and I do.
I’ve spent most of my life giving everything my absolute best, even when no one was watching, no one clapped, and no one ever said “thank you.” It’s not something I learned later; it’s who I’ve always been.
When I was younger, I’d stay up late perfecting projects, studying until my eyes burned, helping friends through their crises, or training my body to its limits—all without fanfare. I didn’t need the praise to keep going; the drive came from inside. It still does.
Founding Bella Posture Wear is the clearest example. There were months—years, really—of grinding in silence: researching fabrics, prototyping designs, testing on real people, learning about posture science, building a brand from scratch, all while balancing the emotional weight of building something meaningful alone. No one was there to cheer every small win or tell me I was doing great. And that’s okay. I didn’t create Bella for applause; I created it because I saw a real need and knew I could help fill it.
That quiet, steady commitment—to show up fully, to do the work with integrity, to keep iterating even when it’s hard—is one of the truest parts of me. Praise is nice when it comes, but it’s never been the fuel. The fuel is knowing I’m living in alignment with my values: helping others stand taller, move better, and feel more empowered in their own bodies.
So yes, I could give everything my best even if no one ever praised me for it. I already do. And I always will.
