Life, Values & Legacy: Our Chat with Jade Posey of Potranco

Jade Posey shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

Good morning Jade, it’s such a great way to kick off the day – I think our readers will love hearing your stories, experiences and about how you think about life and work. Let’s jump right in? What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
I get myself and the kids ready for school and then drop them off. Get my stuff for the gym ready and then go to the gym. It is very beneficial and brings me so much joy and peace. If I don’t have a client that’s usually how my day starts. If I have a client I don’t want to chance it and can go later. Then same start 6:30 am everyday and maybe a coffee if I have a client.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I do many things. I am just a woman of many trades. First and foremost I am a mom of three handsome boys. I’m a licensed esthetician. It’s been two years now. My business name is called Jj’s Lounge. I am a freelance model. For two decades now! A notary signer for online or in person. Sometimes every now and again I clean people’s home because I had a very successful cleaning business for three years when I lived in Washington prior to moving to Texas. People always need it so I’m available. I do a few more things but my main focus is building my business as well as learning more in the esthetic world.

Okay, so here’s a deep one: What did you believe about yourself as a child that you no longer believe?
Everyone has heard the saying, “ You can do whatever you want in life”. This has a lot of truths to it. But at the same time it is false. They say go to school. Have job experience. But in reality you can be under qualified or overqualified. Even if you had all the tools you needed still some people will not support you because it is you. I do not regret being an entrepreneur but some of my own family will not even hype up my posts. They see it at one point or another. Nothing still. You really must believe in yourself to the fullest. Grind it all out and just keep putting in the work for your dreams and goals. It’s not always what you know but who you know. Because if your friends and family may not support you. There are strangers out there that will. I’m not discrediting education at all. I love school and I am constantly going to get more certifications, experience and knowledge all around.

When did you stop hiding your pain and start using it as power?
Life is hard. Whatever is worth it is not easy to obtain or keep. Or else it would be and in that case it is not worth it! Sure we all have our “bad days”, but is it a bad day or just a moment? I do believe in a higher power. Mine being Jesus Christ. I am not afraid to say his name. I am a spiritual being on a spiritual journey. I know his plan is greater than mine. Whatever is not for me is against. Another perspective if things are not working out for you it is his protection. Or his redirection. I always use pain as power. I could let it swallow me whole and just wallow. Or sit in it for a moment and then brush myself off and use it for good! For motivation!

Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. Is the public version of you the real you?
Absolutely. Sometimes I may be quiet at times or a little shy. More and more I try to break out of my shell. People will judge you regardless. It is better just to be your true authentic self . Welcoming the people that are for you. The ones that aren’t can see you for you and decide otherwise. I like to be weird. I don’t mind being a black sleep. A misfit. Or whatever anyone thinks of me. Until people really see me in my everyday life and really get to know me they won’t know. But I love myself. I love helping others and I believe everyone needs kindness. Don’t take life so seriously. None of us are making it out alive. Laugh, take pictures, make memories. Do what you want because you never know when you’re last day will be

Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. What will you regret not doing?
Traveling. I was born in California. Raised in Arizona and lived in Washington state for seven years. I have now resided in Texas the last three years. I think everyone should leave their home town. Maybe not forever but for a while. The world is such a huge place. We are not meant to stay in one place forever. I have moved a bit. I don’t suggested moving but at least seeing more places for a few weeks and really exploring it. So my only regret is that I have not seen more of the world. I will. It is going to happen. For now wherever I move at least seeing and exploring what is in the city I live in. Exploring what the state has to offer and all around until I can and will go further
