James & Natasha King shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.
Hi James & Natasha, thank you so much for taking time out of your busy day to share your story, experiences and insights with our readers. Let’s jump right in with an interesting one: What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
We’ve made a commitment: the first 90 minutes of our day are sacred.
It starts with devotion—time with God, seeking wisdom, clarity, and peace.
Then we move into inspiration—pouring encouragement into others, whether through words, prayer, or presence.
It’s not just a routine—it’s alignment.
When we begin our day connected to purpose, everything else flows with greater intention.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi! We’re James and Natasha King, authors, speakers, and the heart behind “Our Story” and the movement to inspire love, purpose, and partnership in life and business.
We’re passionate about helping couples thrive—spiritually, emotionally, and financially. Through our books, workshops, and wellness programs like Project 1000 Pounds, we empower people to live healthier, love deeper, and lead lives filled with purpose.
What makes our brand unique? We live what we teach. We’ve gone from singleness to purpose-filled marriage, and now we’re on a mission to help others do the same—whether that’s through writing their story, launching a business together, or simply learning how to grow stronger as a team.
Right now, we’re excited about our upcoming Book Writing Workshop, new health and wellness initiatives, and continuing to build a community of faith-driven, purpose-powered couples.
We believe that your story matters, and it’s never too late to rewrite your next chapter.
Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. Who taught you the most about work?
Our parents.
They didn’t just teach us how to work—they showed us what it looked like to show up, push through, and give your best even when no one’s watching.
We saw early mornings, late nights, sacrifices, and silent strength.
We learned that excellence isn’t a job title—it’s a mindset.
That purpose and responsibility go hand in hand.
And that faith and hard work aren’t opposites—they walk together.
We carry those lessons with us every day.
And now, we honor them by how we lead, serve, and build.
Do you remember a time someone truly listened to you?
Early in our friendship, we created a safe space.
We allowed each other to talk—freely, honestly, and without fear.
And most importantly, we listened—without condemnation.
That’s where trust began.
Not in the big moments, but in the quiet ones where we were simply present for each other.
It taught us that real connection is built on grace, not perfection.
And that sometimes, the most powerful thing you can do for someone is listen without judgment.
That foundation changed everything for us.
Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? Is the public version of you the real you?
It’s a piece of us—but not the whole story.
What you see publicly is shaped, polished, and purposeful. But behind the scenes? That’s where the real work, real conversations, and real growth happen.
The real us is found in prayer, in private victories, in quiet forgiveness, and in everyday choices that no one applauds.
We’re not perfect, but we’re committed to being authentic—online and offline.
Because our goal isn’t just to look good, but to live well… with integrity, love, and purpose.
Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. What do you understand deeply that most people don’t?
We believe in keeping God at the center—always.
Not just when it’s easy, but especially when it’s not.
In a world that often forgets Him, we choose to stay grounded in faith.
And in a culture that pushes constant striving, we choose gratitude—even when it’s not popular.
We’ve learned that when God is the foundation, everything else aligns.
And when you lead with thankfulness, you attract peace, clarity, and unexpected blessings.
It’s not about being perfect—it’s about being anchored.
Grateful. Grounded. God-centered.
That’s how we live. That’s who we are.
