We recently had the chance to connect with Jon Meggison and have shared our conversation below.
Jon , really appreciate you sharing your stories and insights with us. The world would have so much more understanding and empathy if we all were a bit more open about our stories and how they have helped shaped our journey and worldview. Let’s jump in with a fun one: What battle are you avoiding?
A battle that I am avoiding is rushing the process and cutting corners. Being an actor a performer at times can be really stressful and overwhelming, especially when you’re chasing a goal and seeing others around you see success, which I’m happy for. I have to constantly remind myself to “trust the process and everything is on Gods timing” and to just enjoy the journey.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Jon Meggison. I am an actor/ writer and a newly director. I have been a working actor for 5 years now and have been part of some big projects that I am grateful for. In most recent I wrote, directed & acted in a short film called “Battle Of Love” that has won 5 awards. The story was based off true events of my life that I knew I needed to tell. It was something we all could relate to regardless of age.
As an actor I’ve received
Best lead actor – 2022
Actor of the year – 2023
Best first time writer – 2025
Best lead actor – 2025
Best first script – 2025
Currently right now I’m working on a web series called “The horror Verse” which is a fan film that surrounds Michael Meyers, Jason Vorhees, Freddy Krueger, and Pinhead. In this series I’ve had the pleasure to work and share the screen with house hold name Robert Lasardo known for General Hospital, Training day and the mule.
I got into the industry in 2020 starting off as a commercial print model and when the industry went on strike I was suggested to transition into acting. Making that change was the best thing I’ve ever done because I’ve had the pleasure to work with some of the industries best.
Okay, so here’s a deep one: Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
The one person that has always seen me clearly is my mother. She has always been the number one person in my life and saw me who I really was despite all the mistakes and things I’ve endured in my life.
If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
Stay the course, and never give up.
Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. Is the public version of you the real you?
I am who I am no matter the environment I’m in and no matter who I am around. What you see is what you get and I’ve came to a point in my life to where who I attract is meant to be in my life and whoever I don’t, that’s okay. But I will always be me no matter what because that’s how I was raised and taught.
Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. What will you regret not doing?
Not trying and taking risks
