Life, Values & Legacy: Our Chat with Jones

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Jones. Check out our conversation below.

Jones, a huge thanks to you for investing the time to share your wisdom with those who are seeking it. We think it’s so important for us to share stories with our neighbors, friends and community because knowledge multiples when we share with each other. Let’s jump in: What’s more important to you—intelligence, energy, or integrity?
Energy! My closest people will tell you that I stand on the idea that “energy is everything!”. It’s transferable. It’s influential. It affects EVERYTHING around it. I try to keep and/or bring positive energy to whatever environment I’m in because someone may really need that.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Jones! I am an entertainer -primarily a music artist- and I represent the Global Greatness Group! Most recently, I was featured on an episode of Wheel of Fortune! I’ve also performed at the historic Saegar Theatre in Hattiesburg , MS and released my first music video in over a year, courtesy of C.R.G Productionz, Light Productions, and DJ 808. I’m excited about the progress my team and I have been making and look forward to even more!

Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. What’s a moment that really shaped how you see the world?
While in college at the University of Southern Mississippi, my brother DJ Trey Trizzle took me to visit one of the historic radio stations in Hattiesburg, MS where we met a DJ that gave us a documentary to watch. The documentary itself shattered the sheltered bubble that we had been raised to believe existed and forced us to think for ourselves and not just believe everything we’re told. Ironically enough, my brother would eventually end up running that very radio station. Mad proud of him.

When did you stop hiding your pain and start using it as power?
When I discovered the power of writing and creating. Taking the thoughts I had and turning them into art has been one of the most freeing feelings I’ve ever had. Sometimes putting the headphones on and drifting away into the rhythm and melody provides a moment of escape that I otherwise wouldn’t see.

Writing and releasing music though has taught me that it’s not just about MY story. There is power in other people’s perspectives as well.

I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. What’s a belief or project you’re committed to, no matter how long it takes?
Being a better version of myself at every turn. It’s an ever-evolving journey, so it’s not a clear-cut or one-size-fits-all kind of answer. Some days and decisions are easier than others but by keeping this mindset I also want to encourage those around me to do the same.

Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: Could you give everything your best, even if no one ever praised you for it?
This is something that EVERY CREATIVE OF ANY KIND has to deal with. Imagine this: You work your hardest on what you feel is your latest and greatest creation, something you’ve spent days-weeks-months or maybe even years to complete, only for the response you anticipated and hoped for to be underwhelming. It’s not even always about the time it takes to complete it. It’s also about the time it took for you to be comfortable enough to share it with the world, only for it to be relatively ignored or worse. The people that do it solely for the accolades or attention give up after too many moments like that. However, when you truly love what you do, you will do it regardless.

So in short, yes.
