Life, Values & Legacy: Our Chat with Jose Guzman of Riverside

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Jose Guzman. Check out our conversation below.

Jose, we’re thrilled to have you with us today. Before we jump into your intro and the heart of the interview, let’s start with a bit of an ice breaker: What’s more important to you—intelligence, energy, or integrity?
I think that intelligence is definitely something that is more important to me than energy or integrity because intelligence will drive you further in life to things that are huge and amazing like an amazing job, an amazing marriage, or even an amazing way of connecting with people that you have never known in your life that will for sure get you in a great position in life, because the thing about intelligence is that you are actually thinking straight and you are planning well on the things that you want and the things that you need in life instead of doing things by impulse and making several mistakes which is why I even think that intelligence is key.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
As a Podcaster and Talk Show Host, I have always loved making people laugh and be myself, I also consider myself to be real but have some humor with it and I am really kind and friendly once you get to know me since I love to make new friends and spread so much love and joy just like on my podcast where I am always posting on Tiktok, YouTube and Instagram about celebrity gossip, pop culture and even give out empowering and loving advice to people. My passion is made me stronger and confident to reaching my goal into becoming a huge TV host and podcaster in the entertainment industry and I am so glad that it has given me more strength and confidence because if it wasn’t for any of that, I would be depressed and filled with so much anxiety to the point that I would give up in life. My huge motivators are seeing these huge podcasters on Youtube and tiktok doing an amzing job interviewing huge celebrities like Colton Underwood, Sherri Shepherd, Ariana Grande, Jonas brothers and so much more that than I envision myself doing that and than I work harder and harder with my own podcast and with getting that Media and Cultural Studies degree from the University of California Riverside. I have also gotten so much support and also some criticism from people for the stuff that I have said on the content of my podcast which has also motivated me in so many ways to keep on striving, that thanks to all that striving and motivation I have gained so much attention to the point that I was contacted to be on the show “TMZ Live” for so many times but sadly the show always ran out of time to have me on until finally one day I made it on that show as a guest which was a major moment for me because that is were all of my hard work was going towards a whole new level in my career and I felt like I was reaching towards newer and bigger things in life that I felt so proud of myself and I couldn’t even believe it for a moment especially because being on national television is huge and I hope to all the people that have watched me on “TMZ live” remember me for that. Hopefully one day I will be the main co host of “TMZ Live” “Entertainment Tonight” or any other show.

Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. What breaks the bonds between people—and what restores them?
Its having a few stumbles on how the people treat each other, there could be some disagreements and some loss of understanding going on that later there is more acknowledgement in between the people that it creates the bond to be better and more powerful as there is more communication and comprehension within the bond and that could alot of times create a powerful friendship, relationship or even marriage. It is always best to not take those moments for granted at all because then you will be missing out on the amazing relationship you could have with the person that you could be currently having with, but most importantly always be truly authentic as you are bonding with someone because nobody likes fake people nor people that aren’t true to themselves.

If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
I would tell my younger self that everything is going to be ok and to keep on being confident and to not let anyone stop you from chasing your dreams in life because I am strong, smart and God has always got my back since God works way harder than the devil.

Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. Is the public version of you the real you?
I always try my very best to keep it real when it comes to my public image because I most certainly do not want to end up being one of those two faced people that show one face in public and show another in real life because that ins truly wrong and hurtful because not only am I lying to everyone, I am also lying to myself and that could hurt me and so many people because that will give me a bad image and I think that will lead me to being alone in life more than it will lead me to having anyone by my side.

Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
I am hoping that everyone will say that I was a nice person with an amazing heart that I always knew how to crack jokes and always found ways to put myself out there on social media and that I have always been dedicating and hardworking at the things that I do because I don’t want people to say negative things that will impact me negatively and have people remember me in such a negative way. I especially also want people to say that I was this Podcaster and Talk Show Host that was so good at hosting and interviewing people and that hopefully I would even get compared to big names like Ryan Seacrest, Carson Daly, Sherri Shepherd and many other big names because that would keep my legacy going as I am gone.
