Life, Values & Legacy: Our Chat with Kelli Price of Reno/Tahoe/Atlanta

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Kelli Price. Check out our conversation below.

Hi Kelli, thank you so much for taking time out of your busy day to share your story, experiences and insights with our readers. Let’s jump right in with an interesting one: What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
Being pregnant!

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m a photographer specializing in event photography, portraits and family lifestyle imagery. Unlike a lot of successful event photographers, I haven’t photographed tons of weddings. I was able to mostly skip the wedding industry and start working in corporate events, which is much less stressful!

Photography is my 2nd career, my first was being an Account Manager. Everything I learned as an Account Manager, and my network of people have being huge in making my photography business so successful.

Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. What’s a moment that really shaped how you see the world?
Starting my photography business in 2013 and moving across the country in 2015. I did very little questioning my decision for either of the adventures, I just made the leap and assumed it would work out…and it did! I think how that shaped me is because many people seemed surprised that I succeeded and made these big changes. It made me realize how few people will really take the change to try something out of their comfort zone.

What did suffering teach you that success never could?
Suffering might be a strong word, but working at a company or in a position that makes you feel miserable or stressed makes me appreciate having my own business. I definitely have my stressful moments but I find comfort in knowing the decisions are fully mine and I will be the one to benefit from the success!

I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. Is the public version of you the real you?
Yes & no?! Sometimes I leave a networking event or a photo session and I think “Who was that person that was so jovial and laid back?” because I know there are a lot of times when I’m home and a cluttered kitchen counter can stress me out! 🙂

Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. What will you regret not doing?
Probably my list of business “summer to-dos”….every summer.
