Life, Values & Legacy: Our Chat with Malikah Harris

Malikah Harris shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

Hi Malikah, thank you for taking the time to reflect back on your journey with us. I think our readers are in for a real treat. There is so much we can all learn from each other and so thank you again for opening up with us. Let’s get into it: When have you felt most loved—and did you believe you deserved it?
I felt most loved when I stopped searching for the approval of others and started recognizing the presence of the true and living God within me. That kind of love isn’t dependent on applause or validation, it’s steady, unconditional, and healing. I also feel deeply loved when I’m surrounded by children. Their hearts are pure, their joy is sincere, and they reflect the kind of love that doesn’t judge, only accepts. In those moments, yes, I did believe I deserved it. Because for once, I wasn’t trying to earn love… I was simply receiving it as I am.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Malikah Harris, and I am the CEO of Mother Earth Productions LLC, a multimedia production company rooted in healing, storytelling, and purpose. I’m a visionary, creator, performer, and three-time published author, known for my transformational works: the Generational Curses book series and WO-MAN: The Power of Non-Disclosure. Every project I birth is infused with spiritual intention and a deep commitment to truth, restoration, and community.

Under the Mother Earth Productions banner, I’ve developed theatrical works such as Blood Sisters: The Musical and ICONS: A Tribute Show, honoring legends like Phyllis Hyman, Luther Vandross, and Chaka Khan. These shows go far beyond entertainment, they’re layered in emotional truth and designed to spark healing and hope in the lives of our audiences.

I am also the founder, band leader and lead vocalist of SEAMLESS, a powerful musical group that performs as a Duo, Trio, or Full Band. More than just musicians, SEAMLESS is a vessel for soul revival. We aim to remind people of their worth, their power, and the joy of live music done with purpose.

Giving back is woven into our DNA. Through both Mother Earth Productions and SEAMLESS, we’ve supported special events at regional jails, juvenile detention centers, schools, and we’ve taken part in feeding the homeless and donating portions of show proceeds to various charities. Whether it’s performing to uplift incarcerated youth or raising funds for local causes, our mission is to use our gifts to serve and shift lives.

My life’s work is to reflect God’s love through creativity, to be a living testimony that even in pain, purpose still lives. I’m here to build an empire that brings light, confronts injustice, and gives others permission to heal.

Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. What’s a moment that really shaped how you see the world?
There wasn’t just one moment, it’s been a series of divine revelations. Even with all the pain, betrayal, and injustice in the world, God still allows us to witness the beauty that exists within it. Whether it’s found in the innocence of a child, the resilience of a broken soul, the glow of a sunrise, or the supernatural ways He shows up, I see that beauty every single day.

That awareness has shaped how I walk through the world. I’ve learned that suffering doesn’t cancel out goodness, it reveals it more clearly. And I’ve been chosen to not just see it but reflect it through my work. That truth has shifted my vision and deepened my purpose.

If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
Even though there are so many things I would say to my younger self, the one that stands out the most is this: You were chosen. Chosen to be a vessel in this life, a healer. Through your pain, your purpose will rise. Through your voice, lives will be saved, including your own. Never doubt the divine assignment on your life. Everything you thought would break you is actually what makes you the woman you’re becoming.

I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. Is the public version of you the real you?
Absolutely. What you see in public is exactly who I am behind closed doors. I strive to live authentically and transparently, rooted in love, integrity, value, and purpose. I’m understanding, real, and spiritually grounded. I don’t perform for approval; I show up as my full self, whether I’m on stage, in a meeting, or sitting in silence. That consistency is part of my calling, to be real, no matter the room.

Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
I pray people will say I was a woman of deep love and divine gifts. Someone whose purpose reached beyond this lifetime. I hope they say, “She was a true vessel, used by God Himself.” That the work I poured into this world didn’t just entertain, it healed, it awakened, it elevated. I want to be remembered as a walking testimony of truth, love, and sacrifice. Someone who gave all she had to carry others closer to their own healing and power.
