We’re looking forward to introducing you to Marie-Louise Boisnier. Check out our conversation below.
Marie-Louise, really appreciate you sharing your stories and insights with us. The world would have so much more understanding and empathy if we all were a bit more open about our stories and how they have helped shaped our journey and worldview. Let’s jump in with a fun one: What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
I have been doing soul cycle classes and I cannot express the level of joy it gives me. I have always loved to workout and have been a core power yoga member for years and recently decided to try some other workout classes and fell in love with soul cycle it literally feels like you are working out in a disco room full of empowered women all of whom are artists. Everything I finish a workout I immediately feel ready to start my day whether that be filming an acting tape, or getting ready to go on set, perform a singing gig. It gives me a huge boost of endorphins!
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hey guys! My name is Marie-Louise but everyone calls me Mila! Apparently Marie-Louise is too long haha but I don’t mind! I am an actress and singer living in both NYC and London. Acting and Singing is something that I always knew was my calling I think most artists feel that way, it’s my happy place! I spend my time either singing on stage in a theatre in NYC or on Set upstate filming. What is amazing about my job is that you always meeting new people, I am a huge people person and love to meet new faces who come to various gigs, at film festivals or on set. It’s such a unique job and I feel like each year I am able to meet a whole new family of friends though my work!
Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. Who taught you the most about work?
I would say my mum, she is a very hardworking woman and I always watched her multitask hundreds of different work responsibilities and caring for family members, she made me believe that there is nothing you can’t achieve that you don’t put your mind to! Recently I went to Cannes Film Festival which was a huge dream come true, I believe from her that if you really put your mind to something and put the hours and effort into what you love anything is possible
If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
I think about this a lot, I believe a lot in manifestation and have practiced manifesting from a young age after I read the book the secret, which talks about what you think and believe you attract. These words really hit me hard as a child as it shifted my entire perspective and really made me believe that being positive and always having a good outlook on life is important. I have carried this message to today, I would tell my younger self thank you for always being so creative and weird and that being true to yourself can pay off!
So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
Being kind, you never know what people are going though the least you can do is give a stranger a smile you make just make their day!
Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. Are you tap dancing to work? Have you been that level of excited at any point in your career? If so, please tell us about those days.
Recently a lot of things have been incredibly rewarding I recently had a film I was part of released called Popeye The Slayer Man, it was a horror film that I got cast in as the role of Lisa. Little did I know that this film would go on to have a worldwide release and be on streaming platforms such as Apple TV, Amazon prime and Tube. It definitely was a pinch me moment, it had a theatrical release in the US and it was so cool to see it in a Cinema. Little me definitely would be jumping for joy. I was very grateful for this experience and have received so many lovely messages online from people around the world who have watched it from Asia and Europe! I also recently was in a film with Lesley Ann Warren it was a short film called Olive Directed by Tom Koch, I was so grateful to be invited to the screening of it at Hollyshorts film festival! Moments like these really make me so grateful to work with such talented people!
