Life, Values & Legacy: Our Chat with Melissa Esmeralda

Melissa Esmeralda shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

Melissa, really appreciate you sharing your stories and insights with us. The world would have so much more understanding and empathy if we all were a bit more open about our stories and how they have helped shaped our journey and worldview. Let’s jump in with a fun one: What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
Writing my novel 🙂

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Melissa Esmeralda, email & funnel strategist for 6 & 7 figure online brands. I help my clients with complete customer journey optimization so they can scale sustainably, created through my 4-Phase Strategic Revenue System. I utilize behavioral psychology techniques with voice of customer data that comes straight from their dream clients. Before I was a copywriter, I was a litigation paralegal for eight years and a rugby player. I’ve played all over the US, won a national championship, and have represented the US twice in World Cups

Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. What relationship most shaped how you see yourself?
It sounds silly, but my relationship with rugby helped me see myself differently. Life had forced me to be small and shy and withdrawn but rugby taught me that I can be strong and get back up, no matter what. I’m not a big player but I was still able to develop skills that best worked for ME and helped me be an asset to my teammates. I’m also quiet so I get underestimated a lot (in sports and in life) so when I do surpass people’s expectations it feels really cool

If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
You are smart, strong, and capable without anyone’s help, despite what you have been conditioned to believe

Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? Whom do you admire for their character, not their power?
Neville Longbottom and Peeta Mellark. Both perfect examples of people who were seen as “weak” but are much stronger and smarter than people give them credit for

Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: What will you regret not doing?
Publishing my novel!
