We’re looking forward to introducing you to Miss Jordan Johnson. Check out our conversation below.
Hi Jordan, thank you for taking the time to reflect back on your journey with us. I think our readers are in for a real treat. There is so much we can all learn from each other and so thank you again for opening up with us. Let’s get into it: What are you most proud of building — that nobody sees?
I’m most proud of building my platform on Instagram. I’ve always been so intrigued with social media marketing. Growing this platform has allowed me to meet so many great people and work with so many amazing brands.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi, I’m Jordan Johnson. A native of Santee, SC and a resident of Washington D.C. as of recent. I’m a store manager for a major retailer and a micro-influencer in my spare time. As a small town girl in her late 20s I’ve grown passionately about content creation. I thoroughly enjoy bringing attention to local attractions, eateries, and events. I’ve also worked with a number of brands from Viva Chicken, Bota, and Dole. Of course, as a Fashion Institute of Technology alumni, I also incorporate fashion on my feed. The goal at the moment in to keep growing my platform. Feel free to follow me on my largest platform, Instagram, @jordansimonejohnson .
Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. What breaks the bonds between people—and what restores them?
I think dishonesty truly fractures bonds between people. Sometimes having tough conversations and expressing your true feelings can be challenging, but honesty is always key. Genuine conversations I believe restores cracks in relationships and build stronger bonds, in my humble opinion.
What have been the defining wounds of your life—and how have you healed them?
Losing my father in 2022 due to a drunk driver created one of deepest wounds. I can’t say I’ve healed completely, because grief a tricky thing. What I can say is I’m dreaming bigger these days. I always downplayed my ideas and abilities, fearful they couldn’t be obtained. My dad on the other hand thought I could do literally anything. He’s apart of the reason I felt like it was time for me to move to another major city and create new goals. I miss him very much and I will continue to do great things in his honor.
Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. Where are smart people getting it totally wrong today?
You can be the smartest person in the world, but nothing good comes to anyone with a bad attitude.
Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
I hope they express how much of a solid human being I was. Sure I was flawed, but always stood in my truth no matter what.
