Life, Values & Legacy: Our Chat with Ms. BY-POLAR Glover

Ms. BY-POLAR Glover shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

BY-POLAR, it’s always a pleasure to learn from you and your journey. Let’s start with a bit of a warmup: What are you chasing, and what would happen if you stopped?
I’m pursuing a prosperous and tranquil peaceful lifestyle that enables me to progress as a mother, boss, and leader. I’m working towards objectives that I am determined to achieve.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is ShonMarra, but I’m often called “Ms. BY-POLAR.” Proudly identifying as a Gemini ♊️, my zodiac sign is prominently incorporated into my Gemini and Leo logo. I pursued a degree in Psychology with a minor in Criminal Justice at Virginia Union University, but I ultimately found my true passion in fashion. Though I previously worked as a Registered Behavioral Therapist, I decided to combine all my skills and interests into a cohesive lifestyle brand. My work has been published numerous times, spanning from the DMV area to Atlanta, and I have participated in fashion shows along both the East and West Coasts. Recently, I published my son’s first coloring book and am eager to embark on a world tour for my bartender classes. My brand is easily found on Google, where you can discover information about my various achievements over the years. The fact that my accomplishments are available online confirms that I am on the right track with my lifestyle brand.

Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. What’s a moment that really shaped how you see the world?
Adopting this entrepreneurial lifestyle has pushed me to think even more creatively than I used to. I encounter a variety of personalities, cultures, and belief systems, which constantly reminds me that we are “Living In A World Inside A World.” This means that each of us has our own set of problems and perspectives shaped by our experiences. We are discovering what we choose to believe and what we choose to reject. My perception of the world is unique to me, just as yours is distinct to you, yet we are all navigating the same reality.

If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
“Nothing is wrong with creating your own lane”

Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. Is the public version of you the real you?
One principle I stand by is being authentically myself, regardless of the situation. You can expect to meet the same genuine person wherever I am. I hold myself to high standards in order to improve every day, and I will never compromise that for anyone else’s approval. Whether I’m right or wrong, I will always be my true self. I don’t pursue attention; I strive to ensure that my son doesn’t have to work as hard as I did, and that his children and grandchildren can benefit from the generational wealth I create.

Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
She was a determined, hardworking woman, fully committed to living life honestly in a way she appreciated. She had a generous spirit, inspiring others to pursue their own growth and betterment by sharing her legacy with them.
