Paris McTizic shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.
Paris, we’re thrilled to have you with us today. Before we jump into your intro and the heart of the interview, let’s start with a bit of an ice breaker: What makes you lose track of time—and find yourself again?
Content creation is my therapy, my playground, and honestly… my happy place. The moment I sit down to edit, time just disappears. I’m in my zone—curating the perfect soundtrack, lining up punchlines, and building stories that make people feel something and do something. I’ll start pulling a few clips and suddenly it’s hours later, and I’ve turned random moments into a scroll-stopping reel that could change someone’s whole perspective. It’s in those moments—headphones on, ideas flowing—that I’m reminded exactly who I am. That’s my reset button.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Paris McTizic—confidence coach, speaker, and media personality with a knack for making people remember who they are and act like it. My story starts in the Deaf and sign language community, where I spent over 10 years interpreting across DC, Maryland, and Virginia. Then Netflix called. They didn’t just see me interpreting, they saw…me: the personality, the energy, the presence. When ‘The Circle Season 5’ dropped, I stopped playing small. I came out of the shadows and into my own light, and I’ve been unapologetic about it ever since. Today, I use my platform to speak life into purpose-driven people who need that extra push to know their worth… and add tax.
Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. Who taught you the most about work?
Marching band taught me more about work than any job ever could. For nine years, from middle school to the collegiate stage, I lived and breathed the discipline, precision, and pride that comes with it. And being part of the Marching “100” at Florida A&M University? That’s next level. We weren’t just playing music; we were moving as one, holding formation, memorizing intricate routines, and performing like the world was watching—because it was. The Marching 100 demanded excellence: discipline, perseverance, ambition, respect, order, and togetherness. It taught me that hard work isn’t just about showing up, it’s about showing up ready, every single time. That mindset has fueled everything I do, and it’s why I never shy away from putting in the work to enjoy the fruits of my labor.
If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
I’d tell my younger self: The world is waiting for you and your light. I know you’ve been through the fire—navigating homophobia as a teenager, questioning if you could ever be fully yourself. But your audacity? That’s your superpower. You’re going to show the world what it looks like to live, not selflessly, but SelFULLY—pouring into yourself so you can pour into others. And here’s the truth: everything you touch, you’ll elevate. You’ve got the Midas touch, baby, and one day you’ll stop dimming it and start owning it.
Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. What’s a belief or project you’re committed to, no matter how long it takes?
I live by this: if you don’t build the life you want, someone will hire you to build theirs—and pay you just enough to forget your own dreams. I’ve been there, giving my best ideas, my creativity, my energy to build someone else’s empire while mine sat untouched. Never again. I believe we’re all the architects of our own lives, and if you’re not drawing up the plans, you’re working off someone else’s blueprint. My commitment is to keep building a life so aligned and so full, I never have to ask for permission to live it. That’s the kind of freedom worth chasing, no matter how long it takes.
Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. What are you doing today that won’t pay off for 7–10 years?
Right now, I’m building a legacy that’s going to feed generations—without losing my soul in the process. I want to be famous enough to open doors, but not so famous I can’t live my life. Wealthy enough to create freedom and impact, but never at the expense of my values. I’m talking multiple streams of income, smart investments, and moves so intentional they’ll still be talking about them a decade from now. Business ventures. Media projects. Coaching programs. I’m focused on building brands and expanding the way Rihanna did—starting with one lane, then mastering the art of evolution until the brand becomes bigger than the person. This isn’t just about money or recognition; it’s about creating something iconic, ethical, and untouchable.
