We recently had the chance to connect with Princess Jennings and have shared our conversation below.
Good morning Princess, we’re so happy to have you here with us and we’d love to explore your story and how you think about life and legacy and so much more. So let’s start with a question we often ask: Are you walking a path—or wandering?
I’ve done both. I’ve walked with direction, and I’ve wandered on purpose. One of my favorite quotes is “Not all those who wander are lost,” by J.R.R. Tolkien, and it has stayed with me because it reflects my journey. There were seasons when I stepped back from expectations and roles, seasons when I needed to understand myself beyond survival mode and beyond what other people needed from me. That wandering wasn’t confusion; it was reclaiming.
During those seasons, I learned what truly mattered to me, what I valued, and what I was no longer willing to carry. The wandering taught me how to name my needs and honor them, something I hadn’t always given myself permission to do. Now, I walk with purpose, but I still allow myself room to explore, to shift when something no longer aligns, and to choose direction based on truth rather than pressure.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Princess Jennings, Founder and CEO of Community Tracking Services, also known as The Data Bounty Hunters. We use data and community engagement to support change in public health. Our work is about partnering with organizations to lift the voices of people who are often unheard or left out of the conversation.
This work is personal for me. I grew up in the same communities we now show up for, so I understand what it feels like to have a story but not have it represented. That’s why our approach is hands-on and relationship centered. Our feet-in-the-street approach allows us to build trust, listen with intention, and honor people’s experiences in a way that’s genuine.
Our services include:
• Strategic planning
• Intervention implementation
• Training and facilitation
• Data collection and analysis
• Reporting and data visualization
• GPRA and evaluation support
At the core of everything we do is this belief: people’s stories matter, and our lived experience is data.
Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. What breaks the bonds between people—and what restores them?
Bonds break when communication and empathy are missing. When people stop talking, stop listening, or stop trying to understand each other, the connection begins to fade away. And it’s not always one big moment. Sometimes it’s simply the feeling of being unheard, unseen, or unsupported that creates distance.
What restores those bonds is honest conversation and compassion. Taking the time to really listen, to offer grace, and to acknowledge what someone is experiencing makes room for healing. When people feel valued and understood, connection can grow again.
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Yes, there were times when I wanted to give up on entrepreneurship. The responsibility felt heavy, and I questioned if all the sacrifices were worth it. Entrepreneurship is rewarding, but it is also stretching. You are the one holding the vision, making the decisions, and pushing forward even on the days when things feel overwhelming.
There are definitely pros to the flexibility that comes with this path — the ability to shape my schedule, build in alignment, and create impact in my own way. And even in the hardest seasons, I will always bet on me. I stayed. I trusted the process. And I am who I am today because I didn’t walk away.
Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
My closest friends would say that they matter to me. My people are my foundation. I value the relationships that pour into me just as much as I pour into them. They show up for me on my hardest days, and they celebrate with me on my brightest ones. Having them by my side is the reason I can face deep challenges and still stand in my purpose. Community is important to me. I don’t try to do life or business alone. I do it with my people. The love, support, and accountability we share are unmatched, and it’s one of the biggest reasons I continue to grow.
Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. What will you regret not doing?
In the past, one of my biggest regrets was dimming my light when I should have shown up boldly. I spent time shrinking myself and holding my voice back to make others comfortable. I no longer choose that. Today, I am intentional about living in my truth, sharing my story, and using my experiences to create space and opportunity for others. I am committed to choosing to love and choosing happiness for myself, because nobody else can do that for me. Moving forward, I refuse to play small. I am focused on growth, joy, and living a life that is full of purpose and true to who I am.
