We recently had the chance to connect with Qeren Joydi and have shared our conversation below.
Qeren, it’s always a pleasure to learn from you and your journey. Let’s start with a bit of a warmup: What makes you lose track of time—and find yourself again?
It’s always a pleasure to connect with you all. Being able to read stories makes me lose track of time; whether it’s novels, nonfiction, or fiction books, I love reading stories and seeing where the author’s thought process was and how it may relate to my life.
Every time I do, it’s a reminder to myself that books have always been an escape from reality for me; it’s like you are in the world of the book and come back to reality with gems to help you face and solve any problems that may arise.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Of course, I’m glad to be addressing you all once again, if you do not know my name is Qeren (@QerenJoydi). I wear a lot of hats — author, entrepreneur, blogger, model, muse, and student — and yes, I make them all look good!
I’ve been writing professionally for eight years and self-published my own work. I also run my blog, Precisely Divine on Substack, where we come together for weekly doses of soul nourishment, truth that transforms, and the kind of laughter you feel in your abs.
And to top it off, I’m CEO of Infrequent Brand, the e-commerce store my brother and I own and are relaunching. Go ahead and keep up with us on Instagram @ShopInfrequent.
Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. What breaks the bonds between people—and what restores them?
In my experience, what always breaks the bond between people is the lack of respect for the individual(s); not just them as people, but their purpose and what value they bring to the table. Whether someone is a child or an adult, whatever their race or story may be, respect is the minimum requirement for building any genuine relationship.
That can even be viewed in regards to the relationship that we have with ourselves. If you don’t respect yourself, it will eventually show outwardly, and that can damage the bond you have with your spirit and soul. Once that bond fractures, you stop moving in alignment. You’re no longer showing up as who you know yourself to be, but as who the world and its expectations try to shape you into.
Restoring bonds takes the willingness to listen, be honest, and be accountable. With those three components, you’re already moving toward restoring the bond, as long as all parties are willing and on the same page.
What did suffering teach you that success never could?
I do not even know where to start, I would say one of the many things that suffering, especially long suffering has taught me is that you are not calling the shots. God is God whether you accept it or not, and He’s always good!
As a Christian, a disciple of Jesus Christ, one of the fruits of the Spirit (see Galatians 5:22-23) is patience also known as, long-suffering. I feel like one of the biggest misconceptions of being a Christian is to think that life is going to be perfect, just because you have a Savior and he has overcame the world ( see John 16:33), that does not mean that life is not going to come with any trials and tribulations.
Trials and tribulations are apart of life, because the state of this world and they shape your character. Suffering taught me that God’s Grace and Mercy is real and to trust Him through the ups & downs. If He allows you to go through it, He will allow you to see the fruit that is a result of what you went through. He will never give you more than you can bear- 1 Corinthians 10:13.
Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. What are the biggest lies your industry tells itself?
That is okay to get your “lick back” (or get back) from people who mistreated you.
I’m here to shine a light on the fact that we only control our emotions and actions. We can decide how we want to handle situations and deal with people, whether they do so in a manner we agree with or not. Our actions define our character and who we are and become. You should and have to like/love who you see in the mirror because you are the person you have to live with forever.
At the end of the day or of our lives, we have to answer for how we decided to handle situations and the choices we made.
Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. What do you understand deeply that most people don’t?
Life is not random. We are not just here for superficial things. Eternity is real, and the decisions you make in your life today determine where you will spend it. You cannot cheat what hard work can produce; you cannot cheat God, you will reap whatever you sow, so you should sow well and with integrity.
You should be willing to leave something (a concept, project, gift, music, book, movie, etc.) for the generations coming up behind you. It’s not all about consumption but creation. We were created to create, and we should be sure to leave something for the world. Not just chase a check.
