remi jones shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.
remi, so good to connect and we’re excited to share your story and insights with our audience. There’s a ton to learn from your story, but let’s start with a warm up before we get into the heart of the interview. When was the last time you felt true joy?
For me, it happens when I intentionally disconnect putting my phone on Do Not Disturb and shutting out the world. No social media, no distractions just me, my bed, and a few snacks. In a world filled with constant negative news and personal challenges, these moments of self-care have become essential. They remind me that joy doesn’t always come from achievements; sometimes, it’s found in the simple act of being fully present with yourself.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Dr. Remi Jones, CEO and host of Remi TV, a nationally reaching television show where I interview celebrities, entrepreneurs, and community leaders with a focus on positive storytelling. I’m also the founder of Remi TV Nation, a nonprofit that provides workforce development, job training, financial literacy, and community outreach programs for youth and adults. What makes my work unique is the combination of media and impact. I use storytelling not just to entertain, but to uplift communities, shine a light on unsung heroes, and create tangible opportunities for personal and professional growth. Right now, I’m focused on preparing the 2026 Remi TV Influencer Awards, an event that celebrates outstanding achievements across music, business, and community service, with proceeds supporting our workforce and education programs.
Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. What was your earliest memory of feeling powerful?
The earliest I felt truly powerful was when I graduated from college. Being the first in my family to do so, I felt like I was breaking a family curse. I had grown up in a challenging environment and had to do what I could to rise above it, but that day proved to myself that I could overcome and create a different path.
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
There were so many times I wanted to give up. This journey I’m on isn’t easy. When I first started, someone told me, “Why would anyone want to watch your show?” and for a moment, I believed them. I quit for about a week, but the encouragement from my loved ones reminded me why I started. It’s so important at times like that to remember your whys in those times, never forget your mission.
Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
My closest friends would say that what really matters to me is making an impact and lifting others up, celebrating my friends and family’s achievements, and creating opportunities for people to grow. Community is extremely important to me, as I believe in giving back and supporting those around me. They’d also say that family, honesty, and staying true to myself are core to everything I do.
Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
I hope the story people tell about me is one of courage, vision, and a heart committed to lifting others. I want to be remembered as someone who saw potential where others didn’t, who celebrated the unsung heroes, and who created spaces for people to rise, especially those who felt overlooked or unheard. I hope they say I used my voice not for myself, but to amplify others, to inspire, and to give hope. I want to be remembered for building opportunities, nurturing dreams, and showing that even in the face of challenges, it’s possible to make a meaningful impact. Above all, I hope they remember that I cared deeply about my community, that I worked to make lives better, and that my legacy is measured not just by my accomplishments, but by the lives I touched and the doors I helped open for others.
