Romi Shepherd shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.
Romi , a huge thanks to you for investing the time to share your wisdom with those who are seeking it. We think it’s so important for us to share stories with our neighbors, friends and community because knowledge multiples when we share with each other. Let’s jump in: What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
I wake up at 5am and mediate or pray. Then get a workout in. Then follow it with some Protien. It’s my power hour.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Romi Shepherd, known as Madre Romi, is a dynamic speaker and identity coach who helps women rediscover who they are beneath the titles, trauma, and expectations that have defined them for too long.
With over two decades of experience in Hollywood and a powerful personal story of resilience, redemption, and unwavering faith, Romi brings authenticity, warmth, and genuine transformation to every stage she steps onto.
She made the bold decision to stop being an influencer and started protecting her peace instead — and what she discovered was absolutely life changing.
Today, she uses her journey to inspire
women everywhere to rebuild from within and lead with faith, purpose, and truth.
Speaking in LA December 1st.
Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. Who were you before the world told you who you had to be?
As a young girl, I dreamed of love, romance, and family. I longed to be seen and to live the fairytale life. Before the world convinced me I wasn’t deserving or worthy of such happiness, I believed in those dreams. Now, I’ve rediscovered that girl within me. I’m shutting out the noise of the world and tuning into the voice of God, who affirmingly states that I am more than deserving and truly worthy!
When did you stop hiding your pain and start using it as power?
When I began coaching and supporting other women, I shared my personal stories, challenges, victories, and setbacks to create a space where they could openly discuss their own journeys and struggles. My goal was to help them discover their strengths without judgment and to foster a safe environment where they felt comfortable being vulnerable and uncovering their true selves.
Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. Where are smart people getting it totally wrong today?
Your worth and achievements are not what ultimately matter most. While they are important and well-deserved, what truly counts is the legacy you leave behind and the way you make others feel. These are more meaningful than possessions like a house, car, or professional titles. When you become too attached to worldly possessions, you risk losing sight of the true purpose of life and the genuine happiness it can bring. True happiness and success can be measured by your relationships, your family, and your health. It’s a simple concept, yet we often make it overly complicated—trying to impress others or compensate for unresolved childhood wounds.
Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. What are you doing today that won’t pay off for 7–10 years?
Remaining joyful, centered, and committed to prayer. Trusting in my strong work ethic, genuine intentions, and discipline. Believing that blessings are forthcoming, even if I can’t see how. Loving others the way I wish to be loved, regardless of whether they reciprocate that love.
