Life, Values & Legacy: Our Chat with Selene Coccato of Italy

We recently had the chance to connect with Selene Coccato and have shared our conversation below.

Selene, so good to connect and we’re excited to share your story and insights with our audience. There’s a ton to learn from your story, but let’s start with a warm up before we get into the heart of the interview. What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
My first 90 minuts are dedicated to tidy up the house and kitchen after cooking the previous evening

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I am a Travel Food blogger, my blog is GialloZafferano one and called ViaggiandoMangiando. Borned more or less 7 years ago, it is about travel and etnic food.
I am a traveler and a lover of world food and through my blog I would like to make Italians love foreign food – I am Italian and my blog too – by raising awareness of other cultures, ways of living and cooking.

Okay, so here’s a deep one: What did you believe about yourself as a child that you no longer believe?
I believed that I would make a difference, that I would be able to count in the world, that I would have the opportunity to address a large audience and not a small audience of friends and relatives.

If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
To the little Selene I would say that even though she will make many bad choices in life, in the end they will be useful to become a better person.

So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. Is the public version of you the real you?
The public version of me is the most controversial but no less true. I defend my ideas and my beliefs both privately and in public, but I try to do so without ever getting into arguments or creating pointless controversy.

Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. What light inside you have you been dimming?
The light of battle has dimmed within me, the great one, the one worth fighting for, the one that would be worth trying to change what isn’t working in the world. I’m no longer motivated, nor do I believe there’s really anything left to fight for.
