We’re looking forward to introducing you to Shanita Irons. Check out our conversation below.
Shanita, a huge thanks to you for investing the time to share your wisdom with those who are seeking it. We think it’s so important for us to share stories with our neighbors, friends and community because knowledge multiples when we share with each other. Let’s jump in: What do you think is misunderstood about your business?
The most misunderstood thing about my business is actually the name. At first glance, people often assume it means one thing, when in reality it carries a much deeper meaning and story. My brand name isn’t just a label-it’s a reflection of my values, my journey, and the vision I have for those I serve. Its rooted in authenticity and purpose, but because its unique, many don’t immediately realize the heart and though behind it. For me, the name represents more than the business. It represents the transformation, confidence and care. I love when I get the chance to explain it, because people always walk away with a new understanding of not just the name, but also of the passion and intention that drive everything I do behind my brand.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Shanita Irons, the founder of PrettyBiish Collection LLC, a brand bult on the belief that self-care is more than skin deep. Its a lifestyle of confidence, healing, and empowerment. Through my skincare line, I’ve created products that are not only clean and effective but also rooted on the idea of helping and healing people through making them feel beautiful in their most natural authentic form. What makes Prettybiish Collection unique is the balance of luxury and accessibility. A brand that feels high-end, yet approachable, affordable, and yet designed with care for every individual who wants to nurture their skin and spirit. Beyond the products, my brand is about building community and connections, inspiring people to embrace their beauty, their journey and their growth. Outside of skincare and my brand. I am a proud mother of two, which fuels my drive to create a legacy of resilience, love, and purpose. My next chapter is expanding into housing stabilization and homelessness prevention, launching an organization dedicated to helping individuals and families find security, resources and hope. This mission is deeply personal to me, and it reflects my vision of serving not only through beauty, but also through compassion, advocacy, and impact. PrettyBiish Co is more than a brand- its a movement. One that bridge beauty, empowerment and social good, all while showing my children the power of creating something meaningful that can touch lives in more way than one.
Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. What relationship most shaped how you see yourself?
The relationship that has most shaped how I see myself is the one I have with my son, who has special needs. Through him, I’ve gained a clearer view of the world, one that reveals both beauty and the challenges of humanity. I’ve experienced firsthand how people can be judgmental at times, but also incredibly kind and supportive. Helping my son navigate life through his differences has taught me patience, strength, and resilience. It has pushed me to grow in many ways I never imagined, and it has given me a deeper understanding of what truly matters. He has shown me the value of compassion, the power of perseverance, and the importance of embracing every individual for who they are. Because of him, I don’t just see myself as a mother. I see myself as an advocate, a guide and someone capable of creating meaningful change.
When did you stop hiding your pain and start using it as power?
I stopped hiding my pain and started using it as my power when I realized that fear was no longer serving me. For a long time, I let my struggles and insecurities weigh me down, thinking they were something to cover up or push aside. But the truth is, my pain shaped me. It gave me resilience, empathy, and purpose. There came a point when I understood that my story, even the hardest parts of it, wasn’t something to be ashamed of. Instead it, was something that could inspire, guide and uplift, not just for me but for others walking their own path of life. That’s when I decided to stop letting fear hold me back and start walking in faith. Now I see my pain as fuel. Its what pushes me to keep going, to create, to serve and to lead with my heart. It’s what reminds me that I am stronger than I thought, and that everything I’ve been through has prepared me for the purpose I am living out today.
I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. What’s a cultural value you protect at all costs?
A cultural value I would protect at al cost is community care. For me, its more than just looking out for one another. Its about creating spaces where people feel seen, supported and valued no matter their differences or struggles. This value shows up in everything I do, from raising my children to building a brand, and now in my work toward housing stabilization and homelessness prevention. I’ve learned through my own life and through helping others that no one truly thrives alone. We rise higher when we stand together, when we make sure the most vulnerable among us are not left behind. Protecting community care means protecting humanity at its core. It means keeping love, dignity, and support at the center of how we live and lead. That’s the principle I will always fight for!
Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. What do you think people will most misunderstand about your legacy?
What’s most misunderstood about my legacy is that people often think it will only be defined by the business I built. While Prettybiish Collection LLC is a huge part of my story, my legacy isn’t just about products or a brand name. Its about the lives I touched, the resilience I’ve shown, and the examples I’ve set for my children and community. Some may assume my legacy is about beauty on the surface, but what truly building is rooted in empowerment, healing and compassion. My legacy is about showing my son and daughter that no matter the challenges, we can transform pain into purpose, and fear into faith. My legacy is about proving that a mother, an entrepreneur, and a woman with vision can create both opportunity and impact. My legacy is not misunderstood because it is small but it is misunderstood because it is deeper than what people see at first glance. Its not just about what I created, but about what I stood for: faith, perseverance, and community care. This is what I hope will live on a long time after me.
