Sharleen, we’re thrilled to have you with us today. Before we jump into your intro and the heart of the interview, let’s start with a bit of an ice breaker: Have you ever been glad you didn’t act fast?
Yes – all the time. When owning a business, I would say you have to think of every outcome and take time with moving forward. If you act fast and don’t really think, the end result can be more negative and something you did not want to happen.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Sharleen Shayan, I am the owner of Fiery Nova, which is an online jewelry and crystal shop.
Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. Who were you before the world told you who you had to be?
I don’t think the world has told me who I had to me – I take life day by day as it comes, and shape to whatever is needed from me. I like to think I am an understanding, kind and respectful person, but I can change if needed 😉
Do not change who you are for the world, the world can change for you!
What’s something you changed your mind about after failing hard?
That all you have to do is pivot. If you fail at something, all you have to do is learn from it and change your perspective and try whatever you failed at in a different way!
So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. Is the public version of you the real you?
Isn’t there for everyone! haha. I try to be the same person but who I am and who I show myself as MIGHT be slightly different, just because I am a little introverted/shy when I am out. But, once you get to know me and I am comfortable, you will see the real me.
Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. What will you regret not doing?
I do not regret doing anything. Everything I have done brought me to where I am today and I love where I am.
