Life, Values & Legacy: Our Chat with shikha singh of North Atlanta suburb

We recently had the chance to connect with shikha singh and have shared our conversation below.

Good morning shikha, we’re so happy to have you here with us and we’d love to explore your story and how you think about life and legacy and so much more. So let’s start with a question we often ask: What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
Honestly, it’s been the little everyday moments with my son. He just turned toddler stage, and watching him discover new things—like clapping when he hears music or trying to say new words—brings me the kind of joy that no achievement can top. It slows me down in the best way and reminds me what matters most. I’ve also been spending more time in my garden, which feels almost like therapy—planting, watching things grow, and then cooking with what I’ve grown. Between motherhood and nature, I feel like I’m in this sweet spot of being grounded while still dreaming big.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Shikha Singh! I wear a few different hats—lifestyle creator, mom, and life coach—all rooted here in Atlanta. On my page @shikhasingh1303, I love sharing the everyday things that make life beautiful: fashion and beauty finds that feel effortless, home projects that turn builder-grade into personal, cozy spaces, gardening and cooking with what I grow, and of course the joys and chaos of motherhood.

But there’s another side to my journey too. After years of working as a software engineer, I felt called to reinvent myself and create something that blended creativity with purpose. That’s where Rise with Shikha was born—a coaching brand where I help women step into their feminine energy, set aligned goals, and create lives that feel fulfilling instead of just busy.

What makes my story unique is the blend—I’m not just showing pretty moments online, I’m also having real conversations about mindset, growth, and building generational wealth. Right now, I’m working on creating content and coaching resources that inspire women to believe they can rewrite their story, just like I did. My hope is that whether someone comes across my page for a quick recipe or a deep mindset shift, they walk away feeling a little more inspired.

Okay, so here’s a deep one: Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
For me, it’s been a mix of two people—my mom and my husband. My mom always reminded me that I was capable of more than I gave myself credit for, even when I doubted myself. And my husband has this way of seeing the bigger picture for me—he believed in my creative side long before I dared to step away from the safety of a corporate career. Sometimes it takes someone else’s eyes to reflect back the version of you that you’re too scared to imagine, and I’ve been lucky to have that kind of support.

What fear has held you back the most in your life?
The fear of not being ‘enough’ has definitely held me back the most. For years, I stayed in my software career because it felt safe and respectable, even though a part of me knew it wasn’t where my heart was. The idea of stepping into content creation and life coaching felt overwhelming—what if people didn’t take me seriously, what if I failed, what if I wasn’t good enough? That fear almost kept me from starting. But the moment I leaned into it anyway, I realized that growth only happens on the other side of discomfort. Leaving behind what I knew to build something of my own was scary, but it’s also been the most liberating decision I’ve ever made.

So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. What truths are so foundational in your life that you rarely articulate them?
One truth I hold close is that everything really starts from within. I learned this the hard way—back when I was chasing the ‘right’ career moves, the good paycheck, and the checklist version of success. On paper, I had it all as a software engineer, but inside I felt disconnected. It wasn’t until I slowed down, became a mom, and started looking inward that I realized alignment is everything. If I’m not grounded and clear within myself, it shows up everywhere—how patient I am with my son, how creative I feel when I’m making content, even how much energy I bring to coaching other women.

Another truth I rarely say out loud is that the little things matter more than the big wins. It’s the daily habits, the small boundaries I protect, the way I talk to myself when no one’s listening—that’s what shapes the life I’m living. Motherhood especially has made this so clear to me, because kids don’t care about achievements; they notice how present you are in the moment. Those quiet truths are what I build everything else on, even if I don’t always put them into words.

Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. If you knew you had 10 years left, what would you stop doing immediately?
If I knew I had just 10 years left, I would immediately stop overthinking and second-guessing myself. I’ve spent too much of my life trying to get everything ‘just right’—whether it was staying in a career that didn’t fulfill me because it looked safe, or holding myself back from launching ideas because I was worried about how they’d be received. That fear of judgment has probably cost me more time than anything else.

With only 10 years on the clock, I’d let go of the pressure to please everyone and double down on what truly matters—being present with my son and husband, creating memories instead of just content, and pouring my energy into the coaching work that lights me up. I’d trade perfection for presence, because at the end of the day, no one remembers if your path looked tidy. They remember how deeply you lived it.
