Stephanie Heeb shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.
Hi Stephanie, thank you for taking the time to reflect back on your journey with us. I think our readers are in for a real treat. There is so much we can all learn from each other and so thank you again for opening up with us. Let’s get into it: What are you most proud of building — that nobody sees?
What I’m most proud of building — though it’s something nobody really sees — are the behind-the-scenes systems and processes that make YourChoice Concierge run as smoothly as it does today. In the very beginning, I dedicated countless hours — often 10 to 12 hours a day — to carefully creating standard operating procedures, streamlining workflows, and implementing them through Zoho One. That foundation of organization and automation not only allowed the business to scale and operate efficiently, but it also positioned me to become a certified Zoho One Partner.
From the outside, people see a business that operates seamlessly and delivers a high level of service. What they don’t see is the determination, discipline, and strategic groundwork that made that possible. I’m proud that I invested the time and effort early on to build something solid beneath the surface — because it’s those invisible systems that allow YourChoice Concierge to provide visible results for clients every single day.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi, I’m Stephanie Heeb, founder of YourChoice Concierge, a concierge/assistant service designed to give entrepreneurs, business leaders, and families the one thing they value most: time.
When I started this business, I saw a major gap in support for successful, high-achieving people who were struggling to balance professional demands with personal priorities. That’s where YourChoice Concierge comes in—we’re your productivity boosters and stress reducers.
Our team covers a wide scope of needs, including personal assistance, virtual support, administrative expertise, and process improvement. But what truly makes us unique is our flexibility. Not everyone can afford—or even needs—a full-time assistant, so we created a model that’s month-to-month, with no long-term commitments. Our goal is to prove our value and make life easier within the first 30 days, because we don’t succeed unless you do.
Think of us as a one-stop shop for delegating. With team members located all across the U.S., we can provide both on-site and remote support, whether you need long-term help, temporary assistance, or someone to jump in at the last minute. Every client partnership is thoughtfully structured—we take into account skill sets, availability, and even personality—because we believe the right match creates real relationships, not just transactions.
At its heart, YourChoice Concierge was built to help people breathe easier, reach their goals faster, and live a life they love. Whether it’s managing a calendar, organizing an inbox, running errands, or handling special projects, we tailor our services to what matters most to you.
What I want people to know is that YourChoice Concierge isn’t just a service—it’s a commitment to making life simpler, more manageable, and more joyful. Our brand is rooted in convenience, efficiency, and flexibility, and our promise is simple: Your priorities. YourChoice.
Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. Who taught you the most about work?
Without question, the person who taught me the most about work is my dad. As a single parent, he carried a tremendous load, working long hours while still managing to be present for me. What stood out wasn’t just his relentless effort, but the way he approached work—with determination, integrity, and pride in doing things well.
Watching him balance providing for me with pursuing his own goals showed me that work is about more than a paycheck. It’s about perseverance, resilience, and creating opportunities even when circumstances aren’t ideal. He taught me that challenges are inevitable, but with the right mindset and strong commitment, they can be overcome.
As I got older, I realized that his example wasn’t just about survival—it was about setting a standard. He instilled in me the importance of striving for excellence, of putting your whole heart into what you do, and of using your work to build a better life for yourself and those you love.
To this day, I carry those lessons with me. My dad showed me that success is born out of grit and dedication, and I try to model that same example for my own son.
What have been the defining wounds of your life—and how have you healed them?
One of the deepest wounds of my life was growing up with a mother who battled addiction. As a child, that reality shaped much of my world—navigating the uncertainty, the absence, and the heartbreak that comes with loving someone who is struggling with a disease. In 2013, I lost her to that battle, and the grief of losing her in that way is something that will always stay with me.
But with that pain came lessons that have made me stronger. Her struggle, and ultimately her loss, pushed me to build a different path for myself. It gave me resilience, empathy, and a deep appreciation for stability and presence. It made me not only a stronger woman, but also a better mother—someone who is intentional about showing up fully, creating a safe and nurturing environment, and cherishing every moment with my son.
I’ve learned that healing doesn’t mean forgetting or erasing the wound—it means using it as a catalyst for growth. My mom’s story shaped mine, and while it was painful, it also gave me a sense of purpose: to live fully, to lead with compassion, and to honor her memory by being the best version of myself.
Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. Where are smart people getting it totally wrong today?
I think where smart people often get it wrong is believing they can—or should—do it all themselves. Whether you’re a business leader juggling endless responsibilities or a family trying to balance competing demands, there’s a tendency to see delegation as a luxury or even as a sign of weakness. In reality, it’s the opposite.
Delegation is a strategic move. It’s not just about offloading tasks—it’s about deciding what not to do so you can focus on what truly moves the needle forward. You have to delegate to elevate. When you free yourself from the weight of tasks that someone else can handle effectively, you create mental clarity, space for innovation, and even more time for the people and activities that matter most.
As much as we’d all like to be one-person powerhouses, the truth is that growth—whether in business or in life—requires letting go. Smart people know the value of their time, but sometimes they underestimate the cost of holding onto everything. Learning to trust others, share the load, and build support systems isn’t just practical; it’s essential for long-term success and balance.
Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: Could you give everything your best, even if no one ever praised you for it?
Yes, absolutely. I believe the most meaningful kind of praise is the kind you give yourself. External recognition is nice, but it’s fleeting. What lasts—and what really matters—is knowing in your own heart that you gave your best effort, that you pushed through challenges with integrity, and that you stayed true to your values along the way.
If my success or accomplishments were dependent on the praise of others, they’d always be at risk of being diminished or overlooked. Instead, I measure success by the pride I feel in the work I’ve done, the lessons I’ve learned, and the impact I’ve made—even if no one else ever acknowledges it.
I’ve learned that internal validation is what sustains you when external applause is absent. It’s what drives you to keep going when no one is watching, and it’s what makes the journey worthwhile. Praise from others may be a bonus, but it should never be the foundation. For me, the real reward comes from knowing I gave it my all and that I can look back with pride, regardless of who noticed.
