We’re looking forward to introducing you to Stephanie Rose. Check out our conversation below.
Good morning Stephanie, it’s such a great way to kick off the day – I think our readers will love hearing your stories, experiences and about how you think about life and work. Let’s jump right in? When was the last time you felt true joy?
It was actually at my wedding on November 15th, 2025. To see so many people gathered together, many of them having traveled so far, to witness my partner and I getting married brought true joy to my heart!
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m an indie/self-published author of historical romance (1 ongoing series) and of Greek mythology horror (1 completed series). I’m also an Originals author for Wattpad, where I have an ongoing steamy sapphic romance, and another one being planned and written. Also on Wattpad I write other steamy romances, epic fantasy, spooky paranormal, and dabble in some science-fiction stories.
For my indie/self-published career, I mostly do everything myself (except for editing & some cover art). From conception until the book is available to purchase, I’m the 0ne brainstorming, crafting, creating, and brainstorming again.
I think my stories are different because I don’t necessarily base them on tropes or on anything that’s currently “on the market”. If a story enters my mind and I like it, then I’m going to write it and share it, regardless of if it meets any marketable standards of the day.
I’m currently working on a modern-day sapphic steamy pirate romance, as well as a historical fantasy with heavy A Song of Ice and Fire vibes.
Okay, so here’s a deep one: What did you believe about yourself as a child that you no longer believe?
That I’m restricted by what I currently know, and too afraid to learn something new. I think as a child I kind of confined myself into a little bubble and underestimated myself a lot – to be fair, I still do this to this day, but not consciously. I know now that I can pop that bubble and be bold, teach myself new things, and not be confined in what’s comfortable.
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
ONE time? No. Several times? Yes. There’s often a voice in the back of my mind that tells me to quit trying to share my writing with everyone, quit trying to draw their attention, it’s not worth the energy. That I could spent my time doing things that really relax me. But I crush that voice every time I hear it, because without writing, I truly feel incomplete. And without sharing my writing, I also feel incomplete. So even if it’s to share with an audience of one, I WILL keep writing, and I WILL keep talking about it.
So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. What’s a belief or project you’re committed to, no matter how long it takes?
I’m committed to finishing/publishing my entire historical romance series – along with all its spin-offs – no matter the obstacles and no matter if only two people end up reading and liking it. This series was initially on Wattpad, and I took a large risk by removing it to self-publish it; I’m not going to give up halfway. So it may take some time – edits cost money and time – but I am one hundred percent committed to this goal.
Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. Could you give everything your best, even if no one ever praised you for it?
To be truthful with you, this is something I do every day. I don’t give everything my best for others; I usually do it for myself. I’m a perfectionist, so regardless of praise, I’m going to do something as close to perfectly as I can.
