Life, Values & Legacy: Our Chat with Stewella Daville of Westchester

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Stewella Daville. Check out our conversation below.

Stewella , really appreciate you sharing your stories and insights with us. The world would have so much more understanding and empathy if we all were a bit more open about our stories and how they have helped shaped our journey and worldview. Let’s jump in with a fun one: Would YOU hire you? Why or why not?
If I were hiring me, I’d say yes — without hesitation! I’d see someone who genuinely cares about what she does, someone who doesn’t just show up for the job but shows up for the people she works with. I bring warmth, patience, and intention into every job. Whether it’s caring for children or coordinating a fashion show, I give my full self
because I’m dependable, creative, and emotionally aware. I have a natural ability to connect with people. At the end of the day, I’d hire me because I know my value — I deliver quality, consistency, and care in everything I do. And those are the kind of qualities you can’t teach; they come from experience.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Im a professional nanny with over 10 years of experience caring for children, and the co-founder of the Caribbean Fashion Collective, a production company that brings fashion, culture, and creativity to life in New York City.
Working with children has always come naturally to me. I bring warmth, patience, and a sense of joy to every day to my little one.
Alongside my work as a nanny, I’ve built a career in fashion show production. What started as a passion for modeling evolved into managing casting, backstage operations, and ultimately producing full-scale shows. Today, with Caribbean Fashion Collective, I help create spaces where designers from the islands can shine and share their stories with the world.

Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
My mom saw me clearly before I did. She saw the strength, the light, and the purpose in me long before I learned to recognize it myself. She always told me I had a gift — the ability to connect with people, to make others feel loved and seen. It took time and experience for me to understand what she meant, but now I see it. Every child I nurture, every show I help bring to life, every person I cross paths with — it’s all part of the vision she saw in me from the very beginning.

If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
Girl you are so damn dope!!!!!!!

Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
My son! That’s it lol . No other sentence needed lol

Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. When do you feel most at peace?
I feel most at peace when I’m doing what I love — caring for children and creating beautiful experiences.
Whether it’s helping a little one discover something new or watching a designer’s dream walk the runway, those moments remind me why I do what I do.
