We’re looking forward to introducing you to Takiyah Williams. Check out our conversation below.
Hi Takiyah, thank you so much for joining us today. We’re thrilled to learn more about your journey, values and what you are currently working on. Let’s start with an ice breaker: What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
Outside of work, I love spending time with my loved one, getting away to new places, or finding new craft projects to get into.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hey there! I’m Takiyah (Known as “K” in the branding industry), the creative mastermind behind K’s Kreative Designs. I’m a 28-year-old proud member of the AquaGang (born on January 21st, shoutout to all my fellow water-bearers!). Originally from the vibrant streets of Miami, FL (305tomyCity!), I’ve since traded in the hustle and bustle for the sunny vibes of Jacksonville, FL.
My journey into the world of design began when I took a leap of faith and left college to pursue my dream of freelance designing. Fast forward 7 almost 8 years later, and I’ve had the privilege of designing for over 1,000 brands, being featured in multiple online articles, and hitting six figures in just three years— Oh, and did I mention I’ve even designed 3 billboards in Times Square, New York City? Yeah, those were all special moments!
When I’m not busy turning brand dreams into reality, you can find me shopping, spending quality time with family, or jet-setting to my next adventure. I’m absolutely obsessed with hot wings and fries (seriously, it’s a problem), and my favorite color is pink—naturally.
With an eye for colors and details that just won’t quit, I specialize in creating standout brands that are clean, minimal, and oh-so-chic. Whether you need a full-on brand makeover or just a sprinkle of my Kreative magic, I’m here to make your brand as fabulous as you are!
Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. Who were you before the world told you who you had to be?
Before the world told me who I had to be, I was curious, fearless, and full of big dreams. I didn’t worry about fitting into boxes or following someone else’s path — I was guided by what lit me up inside. I created just for the joy of it, believed anything was possible, and embraced every part of myself without second-guessing. That version of me still exists; now I’m just learning to protect her, nurture her, and let her lead again.
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Absolutely. All of 2024 was a rollercoaster — a series of challenges that shook me to my core. I faced experiences that left a deep negative impact, and there were moments when giving up felt easier than holding on — not just giving up on my business, but on myself. I’m extremely grateful for my mom and the people who stood beside me, speaking life into me when I couldn’t see the light for myself. Without their love and support, I truly don’t know where I’d be today. Fast forward to now, and I’m proud to say I’m standing tall, rising above everything that was meant to break me.
Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. What’s a belief or project you’re committed to, no matter how long it takes?
I’m committed to building a life and business that leaves a lasting impact. For me, it’s not just about quick wins, it’s about creating something meaningful, sustainable, and inspiring for others. Whether it takes months or decades, I’m dedicated to empowering people, especially women, to step into their potential, embrace their gifts, and know their value. That mission will always be worth the time, effort, and patience it requires.
Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. Could you give everything your best, even if no one ever praised you for it?
Yes, because my “why” runs deeper than applause. While praise is nice, I’ve learned that true fulfillment comes from knowing I’ve shown up fully and given my all, even if no one’s watching. My drive is rooted in purpose, integrity, and the belief that my work should reflect the best of me, regardless of recognition. At the end of the day, I want to be proud of what I’ve done not because someone clapped for me, but because I know I stayed true to myself.
