Life, Values & Legacy: Our Chat with Tashawn Dennis

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Tashawn Dennis. Check out our conversation below.

Tashawn, so good to connect and we’re excited to share your story and insights with our audience. There’s a ton to learn from your story, but let’s start with a warm up before we get into the heart of the interview. What are you most proud of building — that nobody sees?
I am extremely proud of my resilience through struggle. I don’t talk about my personal issues much publicly because I firmly believe that we all have what it takes to change our own lives for the better. Nobody else can change your life for you and I’m happy that I was able to focus on me for me.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hello, everyone! My name is Soul Tayshi, and I love entertaining people through reactions, skits, and music! Usually my content is centered around anime but I also enjoy gaming and film. I am a full time content creator that absolutely enjoys doing this for a living.

Okay, so here’s a deep one: What relationship most shaped how you see yourself?
My relationship with my brother has significantly improved how I see myself. While I can be quite harsh on myself at times, he serves as a grounding force, helping me recognize and appreciate my strengths. Knowing that I have my brother, even if the world were against me, brings me comfort!

What did suffering teach you that success never could?
Suffering taught me that there’s something to learn with every failure. The thing with success is that it’s temporary, like everything else. If you’re succeeding without learning then you’ll eventually fail, and in that failure is when you must learn or you will suffer.

I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. Whom do you admire for their character, not their power?
I admire Monkey D. Luffy, the main character of the anime series One Piece. If we take away all of his powers and abilities then we have a guy who would do whatever it takes to do whatever he wants. He has his own moral compass and moves to the beat of his own drums. The thing that he wants to obtain the most is simply just the freedom to live life how he wants and I think that’s a beautiful thing.

Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
When I am gone I truly hope that people take inspiration from my life. I hope that when people ask them about who inspired them to chase their dreams or work hard they say Soul Tayshi. I wish for everyone that will ever come in contact with me to find their own purpose and pursue it with everything that they have.
