Life, Values & Legacy: Our Chat with Timothy Renteria

We recently had the chance to connect with Timothy Renteria and have shared our conversation below.

Timothy , we’re thrilled to have you with us today. Before we jump into your intro and the heart of the interview, let’s start with a bit of an ice breaker: Have any recent moments made you laugh or feel proud?
I’m incredibly proud to have graduated this year, a milestone that represents years of persistence and balance between education and my passion for digital marketing. Alongside school, I’ve been building my own business — something I’ve poured myself into and have been doing quite well so far. Seeing positive reviews come in on my Google Business page and even community platforms like Nextdoor has been deeply rewarding, proof that the work is making an impact. Now, my focus is on continuing to grow, finding new clients, and stepping fully into working for myself full-time. It’s both exciting and humbling to see how far this journey has come, and I’m energized for what’s ahead.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Before immersing myself fully in the digital marketing space, I lived a very different kind of spotlight. I was a professional dancer and had the privilege of working with Cooley Jackson, one of the legendary choreographers who helped teach Michael Jackson the moonwalk. I even choreographed and performed flash mobs for wedding proposals on the Las Vegas Strip — moments filled with pure energy and joy. Later, I transitioned into hospitality and entertainment, taking on the role of tour guide manager for LA Epic Club Crawls in Las Vegas, where I led the team that elevated the company to the number one spot on TripAdvisor. I also worked private conventions and bachelorette parties as a model bartender. Those experiences taught me the value of performance, connection, and creating unforgettable moments — all skills that now fuel my passion for building brands and driving results in the digital world.

Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. What was your earliest memory of feeling powerful?
The earliest moment, or memory of me ever feeling powerful was when I realized I finally graduated college and got my degree in digital marketing. I had quit and dropped out two different times so this third time was very important to me that I finished because I did not have much time left and of course the school had their policies and regulations. Luckily with perseverance and self motivation I was able to work through the noise and finally graduate.

When did you last change your mind about something important?
The last time I changed my mind about something important, was choosing to pursue my own path in owning my own business and starting my digital marketing company. With having nobody to help me and doing every project and necessary paperwork on my own, I was able to finally able to get to where I could officially start working with clients.

I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. Is the public version of you the real you?
The public version of me and the online version of me are both the real me. I stand behind a 100% transparent lifestyle, especially due to my work because a good amount of it depends on my reputation and what kind of person a business or person wants to work with. So even though I’m my own boss and work my own hours, I still have to act and look like a professional to attract the clientele I need to live worry free knowing recurring revenue would be coming my way through multiple people and businesses.

Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. Are you doing what you were born to do—or what you were told to do?
I feel like I’m doing what I was definitely born to do. And that’s not only talking about my professional work life, but it also includes my personal life that I have with the people around me. Having faith in the most High and dealing with how to live a righteous path has been something I felt I’m supposed to be doing. I feel I’m only in this position of work and life due to my faith in the Lord. I am not ashamed to admit something like that publicly.
