Linda Austin shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.
Good morning Linda, it’s such a great way to kick off the day – I think our readers will love hearing your stories, experiences and about how you think about life and work. Let’s jump right in? What is a normal day like for you right now?
Over the past few years, my routine has changed quite a lot. While working different jobs, I used to post travel content on my social media under the nickname GirandoLinda, sharing my adventures from around the world. After leaving my job, I took a new direction — my love for nature and adventure grew so strong that I decided to study to become both a hiking guide and a beekeeper.
At the same time, one of my latest trips to Memphis, USA, reignited my passion for music.
So, what does a normal day look like for me now? I start early in the morning with a visit to my honeybees. Then I return home to study, create, and share my music as Linda Austin — my stage name — writing songs inspired by my love for the outdoors, my honeybees, my travels, and the life experiences that shape me. In the evenings, I enjoy spending time with my fiancé.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I was born in Rome, Italy, and I grew up in the beautiful countryside, surrounded by nature and animals.
My love for adventure first led me to explore the places close to home, and later, destinations all around the world, especially the USA.
I started sharing my journeys on social media as GirandoLinda, giving tips and telling stories about the places I visited.
But soon I realized that photos and reels weren’t enough to express everything I felt. I wanted to capture those emotions: the landscapes, the people, the experiences, and turn them into music.
That’s when Linda Austin was born: a country singer-songwriter inspired by the road, the outdoors, and a life full of stories.
Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. Who were you before the world told you who you had to be?
I was a shy girl. I remember that when I was young, I was afraid to speak in front of people I didn’t know. I was always insecure and didn’t believe in myself.
I thought I would never be able to do what I truly wanted: express myself through my feelings, my passions and my art.
But life always has a way of teaching you to find your voice.
Every experience, challenge, and adventure helped me step out of that shell.
Today, I’m not afraid to share my music, my stories, and my heart with the world.
When did you stop hiding your pain and start using it as power?
In life, everything happens for a reason. There was a moment in my past when the pain was so strong I could barely breathe.
After losing the job I thought I would have forever, I tried to find another one to pay the bills and keep my travel content creator business alive — but the truth is, I only found bad and unstable jobs.
In that period, I felt unfulfilled, and everything I had studied and worked for seemed to be falling apart.
Then I realized that crying every day and believing I wasn’t enough was not the way I wanted to live my life.
So I decided to stop hiding my pain and shout it to the world through my words and my music.
Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. What’s a belief or project you’re committed to, no matter how long it takes?
My dream is to record all the country songs I’ve written and share them with anyone who wants to hear my story.
I’d love to travel around the world, performing with my guitar and my voice, sharing the experiences I live through my music, and turning them into new melodies.
At the same time, I’d like to discover new countries and cities, and through GirandoLinda, share the best tips about these places.
And of course, I’ll keep tending to my little honeybees, because they’re as much a part of my journey as the music and the trips.
Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. Could you give everything your best, even if no one ever praised you for it?
Being a dreamer is not easy. Ever since I was young, my dreams have been too big for the people around me to understand.
I’ve always dreamed differently from anyone else.
I studied hard to become a content creator, then a hiking guide and a beekeeper, and for as long as I can remember, I’ve studied music — first as a singer and then as a guitarist.
Even now, when I talk about my dream of traveling the world and sharing my music, some people think I’m crazy.
But I don’t care! I need to keep going, because I believe there are so many people who have dreams, who go through hard times, or who simply want to hear new stories.
I want to be there for all of them.
