Lisa Maree on Life, Lessons & Legacy

Lisa Maree shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

Lisa, really appreciate you sharing your stories and insights with us. The world would have so much more understanding and empathy if we all were a bit more open about our stories and how they have helped shaped our journey and worldview. Let’s jump in with a fun one: What is a normal day like for you right now?
There is no normal day for me. I might be on a flight to another state or another country. Or in my showroom with the team, or in my retail store redressing mannequins and chatting to staff or working on the new collection OR on location at a photoshoot. Or there may be a day where I get to talk my dogs, do pilates and feed my soul with a girls brunch. Every day is different and that’s why life is so exciting!

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Lisa Maree — Entrepreneur, Designer & Investor

Lisa Maree is an Australian-born entrepreneur, fashion designer, and investor whose career spans global e-commerce, luxury fashion, and high-growth venture investing. A multi-hyphenate founder with an instinct for identifying opportunities and building brands with soul, Lisa has launched, scaled, and exited companies across both consumer and capital markets.

She began her entrepreneurial journey as the founder of Glamazon, one of Australia’s first beauty-on-demand platforms. Under her leadership, Glamazon became a category-defining pioneer, connecting customers with premium mobile beauty services nationwide before being successfully acquired.

Following the sale of Glamazon, Lisa continued to build and now leads Lisa Maree, her namesake fashion label known for its signature crochet, resortwear, ready-to-wear collections. Worn by celebrities and stocked by global retailers—including Nordstrom, Free People, and Urban Outfitters—Lisa Maree has evolved into a global lifestyle brand. With a focus on craftsmanship, conscious design, and an iconic aesthetic, the brand reflects Lisa’s belief that fashion should be both expressive and enduring.

In addition to her work in fashion, Lisa is a partner at Nadavon Capital, where she brings a founder’s perspective to investing. She focuses on emerging consumer brands, technology, and purpose-driven companies—supporting entrepreneurs with the operational insight and strategic guidance that comes from building businesses firsthand.

Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. Who taught you the most about work?
I taught myself through lessons and failures. Starting a company directly out of college had its up and downs and taught me lessons I will never forget!

Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
I think there were many times were I almost gave up. The days where I didn’t know how I was going to cover my employees next paychecks, I distinctly remember thinking, how was I going to pay them and my mortgage, and wouldn’t it be easier to just have a steady paycheck. But I am a glutton for punishment clearly and headstrong, I don’t like to be beaten!

So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. Is the public version of you the real you?
Absolutely, I pride myself in living truth always.

Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. Have you ever gotten what you wanted, and found it did not satisfy you?
This always happens. I think the bar always keeps moving, when you have achieved a certain level, the bar seems to ove up to the next goal and so on.
