Hi Maddy, thank you for taking the time to reflect back on your journey with us. I think our readers are in for a real treat. There is so much we can all learn from each other and so thank you again for opening up with us. Let’s get into it: What are you most proud of building — that nobody sees?
I’m most proud of the growth that’s happened quietly behind the scenes. The patience, consistency, and resilience it’s taken to get to where I am mean everything to me. Over the last few years, I’ve worked hard to perfect my craft, learn who I am as an artist, and build something solid from the ground up. Most people don’t see the late nights, the self-doubt, or the constant effort to do better, but that’s what I’m truly proud of.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi! I’m Maddy, a licensed cosmetologist and the creator and owner of Enchanted Studios. I’ve spent the last few years building a brand that blends creativity and connection. My goal has always been to create an experience that feels personal and inspiring, where clients can express themselves through art and leave feeling their best. Lately, I’ve been expanding into education and building a community of artists who want to grow and elevate their work, too.
Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. What part of you has served its purpose and must now be released?
The part of me that’s always felt the need to prove myself has served its purpose. That drive helped me grow and build everything I have, but it also kept me from feeling at peace with where I am. I’m learning to let that go and trust that my work and my journey speak for themselves.
What did suffering teach you that success never could?
Suffering teaches you far more than success ever could.
I’ve spent the majority of my life in survival mode, and although not easy, it’s built my work ethic and determination. Suffering teaches resilience and humility, and it makes you appreciate the little things even more.
Success feels different when you have to fight for it.
Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. What are the biggest lies your industry tells itself?
Honestly, the two biggest lies in this industry are that you have to stay booked out and keep your prices low to be successful. That mindset immediately leads to burnout and frustration. Real success comes from knowing your worth, setting boundaries, and actually marketing yourself. You can’t just work nonstop and hope people notice.
Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
I hope people remember me as someone who kept going, even when things got heavy. I hope my journey can inspire others, especially young women, to chase their dreams no matter what life throws their way. I hope they see that strength and softness can coexist, and that even in doubt or chaos, you can still create something beautiful.
