I learned to communicate effectively after looking at what wasn’t working for me in personal and professional relationships. I then went through a series of motivational and intense seminars to develop my communication skills. I learned about listening skills and more. I read a lot of self-help books. I spoke to professionals and I implemented things that I learned. I paid a lot of attention to my self talk and learned how to be present when someone else was speaking and stop thinking about what I was going to say in response. Read more>>

I wanna be heard as well so I wanna give people what I want in return. After all it’s all just opinions we take what we want. Read more>>

In 1978, after graduating from college, I had two dreams: move to Paris or enroll in the MFA program at University of Iowa. Instead, I fell in love, married, and became a mother to an adorable daughter. Undeterred, I studied creative writing and screen writing at my local community college. I loved it, but after giving birth to my son it became clear—I needed to make a living. I applied to a rigorous yearlong program at UCLA to become a Lamaze teacher. I was one of the few students in my cohort without a medical background but graduated at the top of my class. I launched my career with passion and a sense of mission. Read more>>
