99 Athletix , so good to have you with us today. We’ve always been impressed with folks who have a very clear sense of purpose and so maybe we can jump right in and talk about how you found your purpose?
We found our purpose through prayer and is a guiding force behind everything we do which led to the creation of 99 Athletix. There was a time when we were seeking direction, feeling like we were meant to do something more with our passion and be a disciple by spreading the message of Jesus.
As we spent time in prayer, we felt a deep sense that God was calling us to create something that not only aligned with our love for athleticism but also reflected our Christian values. The idea of starting a faith-based athletic clothing brand was born out of this prayerful reflection. We realized that there was a need for clothing that not only performed well but also inspired and reminded people of their identity in Christ—something that could serve as both a physical and spiritual reminder of God’s strength and grace.
The name 99 Athletix came to us through prayer as well, inspired by the parable of the lost sheep in the Bible. It was a reminder that each person matters deeply to God, and that we are all on a journey of growth, both physically and spiritually. We wanted the brand to reflect that—reminding people that no matter where they are in their faith or fitness journey, they are valued and supported by a loving Creator.
Through prayer, we found the confidence and direction to move forward, trusting that God was with us every step of the way. Our purpose became clear: to create a brand that inspires others to live boldly in their faith, stay strong in their bodies, and embrace their God-given potential. 99 Athletix isn’t just about athletic wear—it’s a reminder to keep moving forward, both physically and spiritually, with purpose and with God’s guidance.

What excites us most about 99 Athletix is how we’re able to merge two things I’m incredibly passionate about—fitness and faith—in a way that is both practical and meaningful. Fitness has the power to transform not just our bodies, but our minds and spirits as well, and we truly believe that the right mindset can help you overcome any obstacle. The special part of our brand is how we integrate our Christian values into our designs. Our clothes aren’t just about looking good—they’re about feeling empowered, inspired, and connected to a greater purpose. Each piece carries a message of strength, resilience, and faith, and we hope they inspire everyone who wears them to live boldly in their purpose.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Looking back on our journey of starting 99 Athletix, there are three qualities, skills, and areas of knowledge that we believe have been the most impactful in getting to where we are today. These aren’t just practical tools—they’re the core elements that shaped the success of the brand and helped us stay true to our mission along the way. If you’re early in your own journey, these are the areas we recommend focusing on to help you grow and stay grounded as you build something meaningful:
1. Faith and Purpose.
The most important quality that guided us was a strong sense of faith and purpose. we didn’t just want to start a clothing brand; we wanted to create something that had deeper meaning and impact. Prayer and reflection gave us the clarity to see that our purpose was about more than just making money or selling products. It was about using our passion for fitness and our Christian faith to inspire others to live healthier, more purposeful lives.
2. Resilience and Persistence.
The road to building a brand is rarely a straight line, and we’ve faced many obstacles along the way—from product development challenges to moments of self-doubt. Resilience has been crucial in pushing through tough times and staying committed to the vision. It’s easy to feel discouraged when things aren’t going as planned, but the ability to keep going, even when it feels hard, is what separates those who succeed from those who give up.
3. Business Knowledge.
While our passion for fitness and faith was what inspired 99 Athletix, we quickly realized that business knowledge—from marketing to operations—was essential to turning that passion into a viable, sustainable brand. Learning about things like product sourcing, customer service, supply chain management, and digital marketing was crucial. It took time to learn the ropes, but the more we educated ourselves on the business side of things, the more confident we became in making decisions that would lead to growth.
Building a brand or starting any new venture is a marathon, not a sprint. The combination of faith, resilience, and practical business knowledge has been essential for us, and we encourage anyone starting out to focus on building these areas. Don’t be afraid to take it one step at a time, to seek advice from others, and to remember that your journey is unique.
And above all, don’t lose sight of your why. If you start with a strong purpose and remain committed to it, everything else will align with that vision in time. Trust the process, trust in yourself, and trust that the right opportunities will come your way as you continue to grow and learn.

From brainstorming ideas to offering practical help with product development or marketing strategies, they’ve been our sounding board through it all. We also have friends who have been in similar entrepreneurial spaces, and their insights and advice have helped me avoid common pitfalls and make smarter decisions early on.
