We were lucky to catch up with A.C. Mustafa recently and have shared our conversation below.
A.C., we’re thrilled to have you sharing your thoughts and lessons with our community. So, for folks who are at a stage in their life or career where they are trying to be more resilient, can you share where you get your resilience from?
I know what I’m meant to do in life. I’ve been in bad situations before and I don’t want to go back there. I want to make my family proud and be able to start the generational wealth and legacy for my immediate family and spread my fortune with the people who always seen my vision.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
I’m A.C. Mustafa. A hip hop artist from St. Louis Missouri. I started writing raps around the age of 16 and started taking music seriously around the age of 21. My most recent album “Wisdom to build and destroy” is labeled a breath of fresh air and I have a collaborative album coming out in October with NDL Tone titled “Never Disrespect Life, Allah See” or NDLAC for short. I’m part of the 7 Cypher collective. One of the best artists you’ll ever hear. Made of myself, NDL Tone, Ra Infinate, Sasmo Tanaka providing the sounds. Master Igod engineering the tracks. Skip and Matt holding it down looking like power and divine for Wu Tang. We have a lot in store for the 4th quarter along with the new year.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Life experiences have helped me a tremendous amount in this music business/industry. Also I learn from my elders. Their experiences show me how to maneuver and avoid certain situations.
You have to really love what you’re striving for to actually obtain it. If you half way do this, you’ll never get past the comfortability threshold. I enjoy rap now and I don’t make as much as a major artist. If you’re in it just for the money it will be heard and it won’t grow.
Most importantly I embraced my support and the people who want to see my succeed. I see many people focus on what they don’t have and not appreciate the things they do. Success sometimes is a team sport and you should embrace that.

Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?
Yeah I’m always looking for partners or collaborators. I’m into a lot of fields, not just music. So if you have a vision and a genuine human being I’m down to work with you. If anyone wants to collab you can reach me on IG @MustafaSensei7 or email me [email protected]
